While reporting to the Sales Manager, you will manage and direct the over-arching relationship and engagement with customers for thermoformed plastic packaging. You will manage current account relationships seeking innovative ideas and sales growth, while seeking potential for new leads. Develops and leads the business by leveraging the Sonoco Opportunity – to – Close process. You will have the ability to drive organic sales growth impacting and understanding the full scope of the company.
What you’ll be doing:
You will understand and work in a manner which is process-centered.
You will possess superior internal and external business acumen in order to provide impact to existing clients as well as attract new client relationships.
You should have expertise in account management and outcome-based selling, including cross-functional team leadership, account planning and value management tools.
You will manage by influence and garner respect across large, internal stakeholders.
The location for this position is flexible. Metropolitan areas in the Midwest, or Western United States are preferred.

Bachelor’s degree, MBA is a plus
A minimum of 5 years proven experience related to packaging and the qualifications above.
Proven experience leveraging data to make decisions
Exceptional background driving sales leads and building new business and revenue growth for a packaging manufacturer
50% travel and work from home office
Familiar with food or food packaging manufacturing environments
Familiar with plastics process
Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from $119,280 to $134,190, plus an annual target bonus of 12.5% of the base salary.
An annual bonus is awarded to eligible employees upon attaining various business and individual goals as defined by the Company and the department leader. This annual bonus is discretionary, and the Company has sole discretion to determine the amount of the award.
