How You’ll Make an Impact
The Operations Control Analyst is responsible for partnering with the Manager, Operations Control and Operations Control Lead to advance the execution of operational compliance standards including monitoring and oversight of CS activities, fulfillment of regulatory reporting requirements, and to liaise with Compliance on regulatory matters.
What You Will Do
1) Collaboration:
Provides collaborative support between Client Services, Compliance, Risk and Audit on operational matters, related to Transfer Agency operations and compliance, including National Instrument (NI) 81-102, FATCA and CRS, AML/ATF monitoring, and Privacy Breach and Fraud management and prevention.
Works with CS and IS to assist in applying the operational aspects of legislation and regulatory changes.
Proactively develops business requirement documents, and participates in projects to implement these changes to the TA system.
2) Policy Implementation
Works with Manager, Operations Control as a liaison with Compliance to implement new policies and update existing policies/procedures to comply with new or changing regulations as directed.
Make training and communication recommendations for the CS Division as appropriate (i.e. scripting divisional communications).
3) Monitoring Program
In collaboration with the Manager and Lead, maintains a Clients Services monitoring program in support of divisional compliance reporting obligations.
Assesses business activities on an ongoing basis that require monitoring, determining appropriate methodologies for execution of monitoring to Fidelity standards, and fulfills reporting requirements to CS Management and or Compliance within pre-established timelines.
4) Projects
Participates in Client Services on regulatory projects initiated by Compliance/other CS or organizational initiatives as a subject matter expert.
What We're Looking For
Minimum 2 years of experience in a mutual fund operations role, with a strong understanding of regulatory practices.
Post-secondary degree or equivalent work experience.
Proven ability to work participate in cross-departmental, cross divisional, and industry-related working groups.
CSC/IFIC certification is an asset.
Bilingualism in English/French is an asset.
The Expertise You Bring
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong knowledge of the mutual fund industry, specifically of Transfer Agent Operations, registered products, locked in products and awareness of mutual fund legislation including NI 81-102, AML, Privacy, FATCA and CRS.
A team player who can work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong project management skills, working with numerous stakeholders.
