Job description

Location: Remote (APPLICANT MUST BE RESIDING IN THE PHILIPPINES)

Reporting To:  Director of Global Cloud Operations

Team: The SOC Manager oversees a team of security analysts, with both Level 2 and Level 1 analysts reporting directly.

Overview:

The SOC Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for managing the Security Operations Center (SOC) team. The manager will guide the team in monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents and threats.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:

Lead the SOC team of Level 1 and Level 2 analysts to ensure seamless 24/7/365 operations.

Provide mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities for team members.

Monitor the performance of analysts and provide necessary feedback.

Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss findings, updates, and ongoing improvements.

Threat & Incident Management:

Oversee the identification, investigation, and resolution of security incidents.

Ensure prompt response to incidents, minimizing potential damage and coordinating recovery efforts.

Liaise with other IT and business teams as necessary during incident management.

Tools & Technologies:

Proficiency in Splunk for security monitoring, threat intelligence, and incident response.

Knowledge in VMDR on Qualys to conduct vulnerability management, detection, and response.

Ensure the effective usage and integration of other monitoring tools related to Cloudflare, Office 365, user endpoints, cloud infrastructure, network devices, and firewalls.

Client Engagement:

Provide SOC managed services to clients, ensuring their security needs are adequately met.

Regularly communicate with clients to update them on security posture, incidents, and other relevant updates.

Ensure client-specific SLAs are met and drive the delivery of high-quality service.

Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the SOC capabilities, considering the evolving threat landscape.

Collaborate with IT and management teams to ensure alignment with the company's strategic goals and security posture.

Continuous Improvement:

Advocate for security awareness across our company and its clients.

Stay updated with the latest cyber threats, technologies, and best practices.

Initiate and oversee projects to improve SOC operations, processes, and tools.

Budget Management:

Plan and manage the SOC budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.

Provide justification for budget requirements and ensure cost-effective operations.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • Relevant security certifications like CISSP, CISM, or similar would be an advantage.
  • Extensive experience in SOC operations and leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience with Splunk and Qualys (VMDR).
  • Familiarity with security concerns related to Cloudflare, Office 365, user endpoints, cloud infrastructure, network devices, and firewalls.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
