Our Unix Services teams support a whole range of organisations; providing IT support across a range of technologies and applications. The team is made up of 60 plus service professionals, and we’re continuously growing.
About the Role
As Systems Engineer - Linux, your role is to manage and maintain the Linux/Unix server environment and to provide proactive and reactive support services. The managed services team(s) are engaged by our customers to maintain the availability and reliability of a their core infrastructure. You will be using Automation tools such as Ansible on a day-to-day basis and may be required to assist customers with Application rollouts via Ansible at times.
In conjunction with the rest of the Managed Services team, you will be accountable for the timely action of customer service requests, within agreed service levels, whilst maintaining accurate and timely updates to technical documentation and ticket notes. You will also be required to operate under the guidelines of defined processes and procedures and are expected to ensure effective and professional communication with all relevant parties.

What You’ll Bring
You will bring at least three years’ experience in a complex, corporate, multi-server IT environment. You will have strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8/9 and variants such as CentOS and Oracle Linux, knowledge of Debian, Ubuntu, and SUSE would also be advantageous.
Along with extensive experience configuring and deploying servers, developing scripts, developing Ansible playbooks and supporting systems infrastructure (virtualisation platforms such as VMWare, OLVM and Nutanix). You will be comfortable using Ansible in day-to-day operations. Plus, you will have experience with sever security initiatives including system hardening and security incident investigations.
You will possess exceptional customer, problem-solving and technical documentation skills, and be a team-player. Other skills you possess or technologies that you will have worked with include:
