Team mission

GetYourGuide’s security engineering team provides tools, capabilities, and guidance to engineering teams to help our teams deliver secure software solutions. Additionally, we build and operate core systems with high security and stability requirements.

The team is highly involved in shaping the cybersecurity strategy of GetYourGuide and in identifying the highest-risk areas to improve the security posture of the organization.

You will:

• Lead two lean teams focusing on Security Engineering and Identity & Access Management
• Be responsible for all hiring and performance management topics helping your engineers reach their full potential
• Manage the roadmap and portfolio allocation to drive impactful projects
• Shape the cybersecurity strategy of GetYourGuide
• Find pragmatic solutions to complex technical challenges that span across multiple services, platforms, and domains of our Marketplace.
• Put the user and developer experience first to ensure that we provide maximum business value while keeping our users and systems secure
• Be a role model and force multiplier to uplevel the security mindset of GetYourGuide
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and stakeholders in the broader business on initiatives

Who you are:

• Have a strong sense of ownership ensuring that technical and project plans are aligned with your stakeholders & team members for delivery!
• Enjoy approaching complex topics with an open mind and eye for simplicity.
• Have a passion for people, supporting and coaching your engineers without going into micromanagement mode.
• Not only care about technical topics but are passionate about the customers and apply that judgment to your own roadmap.
• Experience in a cloud-native environment using modern technologies without any on-premise solutions.
• Have proven experience in information security and engineering leadership 
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) 
• Expertise in security technologies, tools, and processes, including SIEM, network, cloud (AWS), encryption, endpoint protection and secure software development life cycle
• Effective communication and leadership abilities to engage with both technical teams and executive stakeholders
• Motivated to work in an international cross-functional environment.

Bonus points for:

• Experience with regulatory compliance and reporting to Executives/Board of Directors
• Relevant certifications like CISM, CSSLP, CISSP, OSCP
• Experience working in a startup environment taking projects from start to finish
• Experience working in (or closely with) e-commerce marketplaces
