Job description

Are you a Product executive with a passion for driving product innovation? Do you want to work for a best-in-class, 100% remote organization with the brightest talent from around the world? If so, then keep reading...

Sparkrock helps social benefit organizations like nonprofits, school boards, and government agencies to reach their greatest potential using technology. We help to make these mission-driven organizations more efficient, freeing up their time and resources to focus on the good they want to achieve. Every day, nearly 45,000 people use our ERP products to make the world a better place.

As VP of Product at Sparkrock, you’ll be at the center of high-impact decision-making in a company where product leadership is a top strategic priority. You’ll have the freedom to develop and execute a visionary roadmap, drive innovation in AI and SaaS solutions, and enhance products that support mission-driven organizations, including educational institutions, nonprofits, and government agencies. You’ll work alongside a strong leadership team that values customer-driven innovation, strategic thinking, and bold execution. If you’re excited about building, scaling, and driving real business outcomes in a purpose-driven environment, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

This Position Is Not for You If…

You are not technical: this role requires a deep technical background, including prior experience as a developer and ideally as an architect.
You are not process-oriented: success in this role depends on clear prioritization, structured decision-making, and well-defined workflows.
You can’t dive deep into customer needs: this role requires a granular understanding of why customers want the product, not just high-level strategy.
You prefer a maintenance role over strategic leadership: this isn’t just about keeping things running; it’s about driving acquisitions, growth, and product expansion.

This is a high-impact leadership role in a company where product innovation is at the core of business growth. Unlike many organizations where product leaders are limited to incremental feature enhancements, Sparkrock is committed to expanding its product suite through strategic innovation, AI integration, and a deep focus on customer needs. Backed by executive leadership and a company-wide mission to empower organizations in the public sector, education, and nonprofits, you’ll have the autonomy, resources, and influence to shape the future of Sparkrock’s products, drive market impact, and build a best-in-class product function.

If you thrive in an environment where bold ideas transform industries and deliver real business value, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

*Building and refining the strategic product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
*Creating high-quality technical specifications that turn strategic vision into clear, executable documentation.
*Prioritizing and managing product trade-offs, balancing innovation, scalability, and feasibility.
*Leading acquisitions and integrations, evaluating strategic opportunities, and ensuring seamless product expansion.
*Collaborating across teams, ensuring alignment between Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success for execution and go-to-market success.
*Tracking and analyzing product performance, using data insights to drive continuous improvement.
*Driving process efficiency and scalability, implementing best practices in product management, documentation, and technical workflows.

Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field required.
*10+ years of experience in technical product management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role (VP, Director, or Senior Manager level).
*Strategic Product Leadership: Proven ability to define and execute a high-impact product vision and roadmap that aligns with company growth.
*Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in software development, product architecture, and system design.
*Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience aligning Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success teams for seamless execution.
*Customer-Centric Product Development: Ability to translate customer needs into market-leading product innovations.
*Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in analyzing product metrics, customer insights, and competitive landscapes.
*High-Quality Documentation & Communication: Ability to write clear, structured, and engineering-friendly technical specifications.
*Leadership & Team Building: Track record of hiring, mentoring, and scaling high-performing product teams.
*Product Management & Roadmap Tools: Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms for backlog management and roadmap execution.
*Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and simple way.

Nice to have

*Experience in ERP software: Preferred, as it aligns with the company’s product domain.
*MBA or strong business acumen: While a technical background is required, having an MBA or a business-focused background is a plus.
*Experience managing an organization: The candidate must have led a team before, as this is not an individual contributor role.

Benefits

*We are 100% remote and global. Live your best life wherever that may be, and never lose out on career opportunities because of it.
*Flexible work hours. We work asynchronously and don’t care when you’re online, just that you deliver great results and are there for our customers.
*We are dedicated to your growth with consistent and meaningful feedback, support in achieving your personal career goals, and access to leading-edge tools, playbooks, and technology to amplify your experience.
*Introductions to thought leaders in the space and webinars on cutting-edge tech hot topics.
*Focus on culture: coffee chats, happy hours, cooking classes, book clubs, and more!
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a product executive who wants to shape strategy, drive innovation, and lead a growing team. If you thrive in a technical, fast-paced environment and are excited about building, scaling, and integrating cutting-edge solutions, we’d love to hear from you.
