The Director - Owners Engineering & System Studies is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing the engineering departments, ensuring the delivery of exceptional consulting services, and fostering innovation to advance the firm's mission and uphold its reputation for excellence. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong leadership capabilities. You will lead a team of power system engineers specializing in owner’s engineering, design and system studies for clients. Key responsibilities include client account management, business development support, project oversight, resource forecasting and optimization, and mentoring and developing direct reports.

Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team

Mentor and develop team members, ensuring professional growth and technical excellence.
Act as the primary point of contact for resolving engineering-related challenges.
Manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists, ensuring the effective execution of owner’s engineering and system studies tasks while meeting project deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality and budget adherence.
Assume full responsibility for the timely and successful completion of projects, ensuring that all quality and budgetary objectives are consistently met.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
Lead initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements to maximize team efficiency while maintaining the quality and timeliness of client deliverables.
Contribute to business development efforts by assisting in the preparation of RFP responses and crafting detailed scope of work statements. Clearly define EPE deliverables and project timelines, positioning the organization for successful client engagements. Develop proposals, present technical solutions to clients, and contribute to marketing efforts.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements to guide innovative solutions.
Contribute to the firm's strategic planning initiatives and long-term growth strategies.
Qualifications:
Bring your passion, here what’s needed:
7+ years of experience leading and managing an engineering team, including hiring and performance management. Minimum 10 years of working experience in the power system industry
Familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines.
Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
Prior experience ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Strong critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to manage the design and studies of multiple complex projects, coordinating the efforts of multiple stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, clients, utilities, permitting authorities, and professional engineers
Proficient with at least one of the power system analysis software: PSSE, PSCAD, TSAT, ETAP, SKM, PSLF, or similar tools.
Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering with power system emphasis. Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or MBA) preferred.
Have high standards for producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride.
A Professional Engineer license is preferred.
Ability to collaborate, mentor, learn from other engineers, and treat colleagues with empathy and respect.
Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the company
