Mission

In your role as (Senior) Commercial Analyst, you play a key and fundamental role for Zelestra in Germany. Together with the Origination team, you are responsible for the commercial analysis of Zelestra’s renewable business (PV, Wind, BESS) in Germany.

As (Senior) Commercial Analyst you are the key person for business valuation and profitable deal making. You model PPA offerings and develop innovative asset route to market opportunities. As of today, this includes PV, Wind and Batteries – tomorrow this will be extended to further sources of renewable energy.

By understanding the key drivers of the energy market, you give strategic recommendations for Zelestra’s German business decisions.

You will be reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer Germany in a growing team of professionals as part of a close-knit team that supports each other and collaborates to achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive valuation models for the new energy future including a combination of asset types (PV, Wind, BESS etc.)
  • Support the negotiation of power contracts with counterparties in collaboration with stakeholders from functions across the organization (Project Development, Finance, Operations, M&A).
  • Develop and execute creative deal structures across a range of product offerings. These include conventional power purchase agreements for renewable energy, storage product offerings and new deal delivery structures.
  • Ensure alignment with market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
  • Support the Business Development/Project Development and the M&A teams by assessing the value of assets for acquisitions, leveraging financial expertise and market knowledge to inform investment decisions.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Renewable Energy Management or Engineering, or a related field in energy markets.
  • 7+ years of experience in German power markets (Trading/Origination/Quantitative Analysis/Renewable Valuation/Energy Pricing).
  • Specific experience in pricing, structuring and analysis of physical and financial PPAs across multiple energy markets, customers and types of deal structures.
  • Strong analytic mindset and passion to work with numbers.
  • Deep knowledge of the German energy and power markets with a strong focus on renewables.
  • Fluent skills of German language.
  • Advanced English.
  • Strong willingness to teamwork and collaborate.
  • Passion to lead the World towards a clean energy future.
