What To Expect

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Working remotely, the Business Development Manager Data Centers, EMEA, will be part of the European Commercial team reporting to the Vice President of Sales EMEA.

This role is responsible for the development of profitable and sustainable sales growth for the data center cooling solution through Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) and end user markets within the Region.

The Business Development Manager will have broad responsibility to coordinate sales efforts across the entire two main product portfolios - Power Transmission and Fluid Power.

Key Responsibilities (to Name a Few)

  • Defining and implementing a segment growth strategy for the EMEA market with a focus on Data Center cooling (liquid and air).
  • Creating and executing a business plan aligned with EMEA's Strategic Plan and budget targets.
  • Becoming an expert in understanding EMEA Data Center architecture, including:
    • Key technologies, market trends, and decision-making processes in sectors like hyperscale, government, and high-tech.
    • Modularity, scalability, AI impact, and increasing Data Center power density.
  • Identifying key players in the decision-making chain (e.g., engineering firms, consultants, owners, operators).
  • Identifying industry standards and requirements for product development, qualifications, and testing.
  • Supporting the sizing of new opportunities related to product development.
  • Driving marketing efforts and market awareness for Gates' product portfolio, focusing on Cooling Solution OEMs and system integrators.
  • Collaborating with the technical sales team, application engineers, and account management to develop new project opportunities.
About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or any other relevant degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience with at least 5 years business development or account sales experience.
  • Background with Data Center infrastructure is required.
  • Experience with High Density Data Center Cooling solutions is preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, able to see the big picture, think long-term and align business development efforts with the overall Gates' strategy.
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills, with proven ability to establish trustful partnerships that allows the company to close deals.
  • Deep understanding of sales processes and negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to lead and influence the organization across multiple functions (Product Line Management, Engineering, Marketing, Operations) to drive results and at all levels of the organization.
  • Very strong understanding of key financial principles and drivers, including budgeting, forecasting and profitability analysis.
  • Must be legally authorized to work and travel in EU.
