Job Title: Pig Feed Account Manager
Location: UK (Home based with national travel)
Contract / Shift: Permanent, Monday to Friday – Flexibility is necessary.

What’s a typical week look like in this role?
A typical week for the role involves a flexible mix of working from home and traveling to see customers, with key responsibilities including understanding customer requirements, handling the order process, setting pricing, conducting forecasting, resolving queries, and developing account plans to anticipate future customer needs.
About the role:
The key elements of this role are to maintain relationships with existing customers and to grow and develop business within the UK pig industry. You will add value to both ABN and our pig customers ensuring that they receive the cost effective, efficient feeding solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Stakeholders: Collaborate with business owners, area managers, and farm managers to ensure all processes from feed order through to delivery and on-farm performance, meet agreed KPIs and standards.
- Be the Central Interface: Act as the bridge between operations, raw materials, nutrition, and customer support teams, using negotiation and problem-solving skills to deliver workable solutions.
- Customer Engagement: Hold and attend customer meetings to ensure clarity on requirements, from product specifications to performance targets and service levels.
- Drive Business Growth: Take responsibility for pricing, account profitability, and accurate forecasting, ensuring you understand deviations and trends.
- Strategic Planning: Create clear, actionable account plans and maintain ongoing stakeholder engagement plans that deliver measurable goals.
- Lead Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements that add value, streamline operations, and create performance improvement plans.
- Handle Projects: Manage commercial projects from inception to completion, demonstrating measurable value while proactively resolving customer complaints in line with internal procedures.
- Build Positive Relationships: Collaborate effectively with 3rd-party nutritionists and manage customer interfaces to ensure high-quality service.
- Deliver Growth: Oversee the volume and profitability of accounts, including opportunities to generate new business with existing or new customers.
About you:
- Proven account management experience, primarily in the pig or broader agricultural industry.
- Solid knowledge of monogastric production and supply chains.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with a talent for building trust and influencing at all levels.
- Experience with business planning, problem-solving, and delivering results in a time sensitive situation.
- A Full UK Driving Licence and a willingness to travel nationally with overnight stays.
Added Advantage For:
- Experience with pricing strategies, forecasting, and developing commercial partnerships.
- Completion of Feed Adviser Register (FAR) modules (or willingness to complete within 12 months).
- Familiarity with agricultural trends, including welfare, economic, and legislative impacts.
