Why work at Southpoint Consulting? We are not just a consultancy; since 2009 we have been a family of creative minds, solution providers, and catalysts for change. We are committed to achieving outstanding outcomes and enabling federal IT programs to excel. Our commitment to quality and our drive to create an impact distinguishes us in the consulting industry. What’s our secret? A collaboration of top-notch talent, passion, and a whole lot of determination!

At the core of our company is our value system. Respect, Inclusiveness, Integrity, Transparency and Excellence form the foundation for everything we do.

This position will support a federal digital infrastructure and technology program focused on advancing strategic management, cloud services, and cybersecurity initiatives across multiple government agencies.

Roles And Responsibilities

The Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting a federal digital infrastructure and technology program by providing comprehensive requirements analysis, technical support, and business process analysis. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and integrated program environment. This role requires an individual who can work independently, identify and address emerging task needs, and effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities Will Include

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across various business units to gather, document, and refine requirements for new and existing projects. Develop high-quality deliverables, including requirements documents, functional specifications, and work products needed by the program. Support the development of key documentation, presentations, and reports for executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and define functional and technical solution requirements, ensuring alignment with program objectives. Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, document user stories and acceptance criteria, and maintain traceability throughout the project lifecycle. Analyze requirements to identify gaps and recommend solutions.
  • Handle knowledge management tasks and analyze program data to provide insights that support strategic decision-making and program planning. Organize large volumes of information and data into concise and meaningful formats for presentations and reports.
  • Conduct Business Process Modeling to map out current and future-state processes, identify operational inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements. Utilize BPM tools like Visio or similar software to visually document workflows and business processes.
  • Create professionally formatted visuals, including complex data tables, figures, and graphical representations of findings. Utilize Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools to present data and information effectively.
  • Proactively analyze program needs and identify critical tasks, effectively communicating and coordinating with team members to provide solutions to complex issues. Support the program in meeting high-priority deadlines and resolving challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting federal government customers, ideally within a consulting or technical environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to take comprehensive meeting notes and synthesize information for stakeholders.
  • Expertise in business process modeling using Visio or a similar BPM tool.
  • Demonstrated experience in capturing and translating functional solution requirements into actionable plans.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and independently when necessary.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the use of analytic tools such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint to manage projects and develop presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Authorization to work for any U.S. employer.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience establishing and maintaining governance body processes.
  • Experience in requirements gathering and management methodologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) training or certification.
  • Prior experience in a consulting role, ideally with exposure to federal government projects.
