What You’ll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for helping the accounting team with daily transactional data, AP processes and month-end close. You will also be responsible for supporting the accounting department with owning multiple reports ensuring data integrity and accuracy.  This role requires advanced analytical skills.

 You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing full cycle AP process including
    • Verify vendor accounts and maintain W9’s on file
    • Receive, verify & process invoices
    • Clear transactional data (bank feeds, credit card & Ramp transactions) on a daily basis
  • Reconciling bank and credit card accounts and verifying balances on balance sheet
  • Preparing & entering general journal entries as required
  • Providing support to billing operations as needed 
  • Protecting organizations by keeping information confidential
  • Supporting various parts of month-end close processes
  • Assisting the year-end financial audit process with external auditors by helping prepare schedules and pulling supporting documents
  • Creating ad-hoc reports for various business needs
  • Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by management
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

 

What You’ll Bring

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Multi-entity experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic with a healthy obsession for quality and timely work
  • Strong technical skills:  Proficiency in accounting ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, etc.) and other financial reporting tools as well as above average Microsoft Excel skills are crucial to success
  • Strong technical accounting skills, research capabilities, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of full month-end close process
  • Outstanding customer service skills including the ability to manage and respond to different vendor and customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude
  • Excellent ability to organize and coordinate tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable working in multiple online environments
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Team player with the ability to work with all levels of employees, both internal and external, to ensure performance and excellent standards are maintained
  • This is a hybrid work model and candidates must reside in the Houston, Texas area
