They are looking for a Global Payroll Implementation Manager to lead the successful implementation of clients on the global payroll system.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and international regulations, and be able to guide most essential clients through the critical payroll onboarding process.

The Implementation Project Manager will work autonomously, setting priorities and managing projects. They will provide regular status reports to senior leadership and take ownership of escalating issues as needed. Weekly client calls will be scheduled to report on project status, risks, actions, issues, and dependencies.

Job Requirements:

  • Collaborate with onboarding teams and clients to organize kick-off meetings and implement Global Payroll across countries.
  • Maintain project documentation and manage plans for successful roll-outs.
  • Participate in review calls with internal and external teams, ensuring coordination and execution of project streams.
  • Manage project scopes and timelines independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Define client payroll processes and establish payroll and data requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation including project plans and status reports.
  • Configure interfaces and reports for successful parallel and live payroll implementation.
  • Act as the primary contact for payroll matters and collaborate with clients for project sign-off, documenting specific needs.
  • Lead end-to-end implementation of the global payroll system, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Gather essential payroll requirements from clients and guide them through technical aspects.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance for payroll needs compliance with local and international laws.
  • Oversee data migration from legacy systems to the new payroll system, ensuring accuracy and security.
  • Develop a testing plan to identify and resolve issues for a smooth transition.
  • Implement change management strategies for seamless transitions for employees and HR teams.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5 years) in global payroll implementation and (5 years) experience in running Japanese payroll.
  • Experience with various payroll systems and software.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance in Japan.
  • Proficiency in Japanese and English.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
