Job Summary:
Workit Health is seeking a remote People Services leader to join the HR team. This role will report to the VP, People and oversee the People Services (People Operations) sub-department of the HR team.
The successful candidate will have owned payroll, benefits, operations and HRIS technology for a small company, be well versed in federal, state and local labor laws in the US, and have previously led HRIS implementations. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable working on the strategic and the tactical/administrative tasks required to provide an excellent People Services experience.
Core Responsibilities:
Understand, grow, and oversee a team of 1-2 People Services Analysts
Run a full cycle HRIS implementation process from RFP to employee training to flawless implementation
Manage day-to-day benefits & retirement administration
Act as the secondary payroll point of contact, and regularly provide oversight
Own benefits strategy and annual Open Enrollment
Own retirement strategy and annual 401k audit
Ensure oversight for pay, tax, and labor law compliance
Streamline and tech-enable People operational processes to create engaging experiences throughout the full employee lifecycle
Review and propose solutions to make the People Services subdepartment (pay, benefits, operations, technology) adhere to the highest standards of service and efficiency
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience working in a People Operations, People Services, Payroll, or Benefits capacity
2+ years direct management experience
Proven record acting as point person on a new HRIS implementation
Proven record acting as point person for benefits administration, benefits strategy and open enrollment
Previous experience as the primary payroll point of contact
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CBP)
Demonstrated expertise in payroll, employee taxes and pay laws
Demonstrated expertise in benefits, retirement and ERISA law
Record of operational excellence, creating and reforming core HR life cycle processes to be frictionless, efficient, tech-enabled and engaging
Proactive and curious approach to problem-solving
HR-as-customer-service mindset
Strong tech skills, with demonstrated ability to maintain current knowledge with HR technology and technology as a whole
Management-level expertise with Google Suite products, written and verbal communications to employees, cross-department collaboration, vendor management, building executive buy-in, and public presentations
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human capital management, accounting, social science or related discipline
Paylocity experience
Experience starting the HR function as sole HR team member at a small, growing company
Experience scaling a People Services/Operations function
