Opportunity Overview:
This candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of any project in a company's IT department, which includes managing a team of employees to ensure projects are completed on time and within their specified budgets. Some of an IT Project Manager's day-to-day duties include.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing overall management of assigned technology projects in support of corporate transformation initiatives, day-to-day business operations, and our external clients and partners
Direct and oversee the implementation and full lifecycle of small to medium projects or may be part of a PM team for complex programs
Regularly interface with the IT engineering resources, IT management and other line-of-business owners, to ensure speed of delivery, transparency of project work, and consistent stakeholder participation
Have full responsibility for meeting client approved integrated master schedules, motivating team members to complete work efficiently and accurately, and ensuring that all services are delivered according to project contractual requirements
Serve as the primary point of contact and interface between technical teams and upstream project/program managers, business stakeholders, and external clients if applicable
Manage day-to-day tasks for internal and vendor managed project team members
Collaborate with various functional and technical teams to ensure timeline, complete, and accurate implementations
Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature
Assist with project budget, resources, and schedule
Perform quality control and ensure quality assurance of project deliverables
Submit project status and other assigned reports to the PMO and other stakeholders
Ensure deliver of project lifecycle documents, including, but are not limited to, Project Plan, Installation Plan, Standard Operating Procedures SOPs, Systems Design Document, Configuration Management CM Plan, Release Management Plan, & Risk Management Plan
Track costs, schedule, and project performance, and take corrective actions, when necessary, to ensure that projects are within budget, on schedule, and meet quality standards & customer satisfaction
Utilize Project Management PM lifecycle and Systems Development Lifecycle SDLC methodologies.
Contribute to corporate repository of project standards.
Contribute to proposal writing.
This is a REMOTE position. Ability to travel up to 50%. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience required
PMP or CSM certification required
Experience in various project methodologies e.g., Agile, DevOps, PMP, and or ITILv4
Working knowledge of standard Project Management tools: Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, Contact Centers, Data Centers, Digital Transformations, etc.
Experience leading small - medium technical projects at Internal Revenue Service IRS.
Supporting mixed technology environments: Windows, Unix, Linux, Solaris, etc.
Must possess exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing.
Experience in managing both staff and processes, deadline-oriented work, budgets and revenue and profitability.
Experience leading technical projects spanning multiple knowledge, technical, and functional disciplines.
