Job description

As we continue to scale, PMC, a division of One80, is seeking a talented Senior Production Underwriter to work within our USL&H/Maritime Program Group. This position is focused on new business development, including marketing, managing, and retaining a consistently growing and profitable book of business. This position will utilize a disciplined underwriting approach, adhering to standards and best practices for One80/PMC and ensuring assigned program underwriting results are consistent with established guidelines and profitable for the both the company and carriers. The candidate will be a member of the PMC MGA underwriting team focused on driving efficiency and providing service to a fast-growing company. This position will require the ability to handle a relatively high volume of transactions during the peak business cycles therefore it is essential that the candidate can multitask and work efficiently with a high degree of organizational skill.


Your Impact:

  • The solicitation, quoting, and binding of submissions in accordance with One80/PMC Underwriting guidelines specific to your Underwriting Letter of Authority granted by the team leader and/or Carrier
  • Negotiate/execute new and renewal production and goals as established by management.
  • Develop and pursue prospects through solicitation, referral, target marketing and industry affiliations
  • Secure information, recommendations for prospective accounts, present proposals for new and renewal accounts while adhering to prescribed policies and procedures and document file accordingly within PMC’s AMS
  • Apply appropriate factors to rating basis/formulas provided
  • Marketing visits to assigned retail agencies/clients relevant to your book of business
  • Assist in resolving any coverage issues/questions, audits, endorsements, accounting, claims or marketing issues as needed
  • Participate in underwriting meetings/educational seminars/continued education courses offered


Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years in underwriting
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, decision making and negotiation skills
  • Must obtain license within a designated time, if not currently licensed
  • Well established verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen and deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Self-directed Individual with initiative, analytical and problem-solving skills

At One80 Intermediaries, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base annual pay range for this position is between $89,000 - $160,000 plus discretionary bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
