CA team has developed extensive expertise in grid-related studies and analysis for renewable energy projects in all ISOs and RTOs across North America, which include PJM, MISO, NYISO, CAISO, and ISO‐NE.

CA is looking to hire a Head of Engineering or /Engineering Manager which would be a high visibility role set to play a pivotal part in the growth of Continuum Associates in India. The minimum industry experience required is 12y - 15y, with an excellent academic pedigree from top-tier technical institutes (IIT/NIT/IISc).


We are looking for candidates with a strong engineering background in power system analysis with modeling skills to match.

Technical Expertise & Experience Required:


  • Aim and strive to lead Continuum Associates LLC’s India team across a diverse set of verticals and functions.

  • Develop and lead a team of very talented and inquisitive engineers.

  • Strong Project Management skills in Power system studies on Renewable energy (onshore and offshore wind, solar) grid integration.

  • Establish top-level and top-notch expertise as a power system expert internally within Continuum Associates LLC and externally with Continuum Associates LLC’s clients.

  • Perform data analysis related to bulk transmission, distributed generation, and power quality studies.

  • Write engineering reports that document study results. Objective and concise writing and presentation skills.

  • Strong Experience in one or more of the following areas: transmission and distribution planning, renewable grid integration studies, power system economics and reliability assessment.

  • Lead engineering studies on solar, wind, energy storage plants and utility power systems. 

  • Expert knowledge of power system simulation tools such as PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS/E, Simulink for Power Systems, PSS/e, PSLF, etc.

  • Expertise and skill in PSS/E and/ or PSCAD are a MUST and is REQUIRED.

  • Strong understanding of power electronics and power electronics principles as it apply to the inverter and converter design and wind turbine generators such as Type 3 and Type 4 wind turbine generators.

  • Programming skills in Python or another major programming language and/ or other data analysis tools such as Excel Macro, R, etc.

  • Relevant work experience in power systems, wind farms, solar PV farms, energy storage, or consulting engineering in similar industries.

  • BTech/BE/MTech/ME within Electrical Engineering engaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.

  • 5+ years’ experience leading a team of design professionals in a consulting engineering environment.

  • Communication: the capability to effectively communicate with employees, clients, and business partners to create a clear and mutual understanding of common goals, directives, and expectations. Possesses skills ranging from negotiating, conflict resolution, communications, influencing, and coaching.

  • Exceptional work and professional ethics while working remotely, and setting up a high bar on professional conduct.

  • Experience in building a team under your supervision from the ground up is essential. You should have also played a role of a mentor, and trainer with great people management skills.

  • Functional knowledge of Balance of Plant (BoP), Including Transformer, switchgear, cables/overhead, Lines, reactors, STATCOM technical specifications, and Earthing design calculation as per IS/IEEE.



The person in this position will also support the development of cutting-edge tools that the company plans to bring to market in the next couple of months.


Academic Qualification/Education Requirement:


  • Requires a BE/BTech or ME/MTech from leading technical institutes in the country  with courses in Electrical Power Engineering or Electrical Power Systems


  • Ph.D.  preferred. Experience can be compensated for the right candidate's preference for an advanced degree



Internal & External contacts:


  • The individual will be in regular contact (phone/email/meetings) with the Client (Lenders and Owners) and the Client’s project is located in the United States and other global markets. Excellent/ Exceptional written and oral English communication skills are a key requirement for this position.

  • The individual will be in regular contact with his/her own team, the Line Manager, other Head of Sections, and the CEO of the company.

  • The individual will work closely with other engineers in their local offices and will have contact with the wider electrical community.


Other Key Requirements or Qualifications:


  • Ability to write and compose clear and accurate reports and communication in English.

  • Superior organisation, coaching and interpersonal skills combined with effective leadership, decision-making, and communication.

  • Ability to work in a pressurized consultancy environment – operating in tight timescales.
