Job description

The Site Safety reports directly to the Project Site Safety Manager and plays a pivotal role in supporting the execution of the project’s safety plan and Company safety program. This role is essential in reducing and eliminating occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial loss.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Safety Oversight:

  • Conduct daily observations of project activities to ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with customer, governmental, and corporate safety requirements.
  • Identify potential job hazards and high-risk behaviors and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks.

Incident Management:

  • Provide incident management support to the project site, including accident investigation reporting, first aid treatment, and corrective action support.
  • Report observations and incidents promptly to the Project Site Safety Manager for appropriate action.

 

Safety Permit Management:

  • Ensure all safety permits, including those for hot work, confined spaces, and scaffolding, are properly located, updated, and adhered to.
  • Monitor and maintain records of safety permit usage and compliance.

 

Atmospheric Testing:

  • Perform atmospheric testing using atmospheric meters, record and store all atmospheric readings accurately, and communicate any unacceptable readings to the Project Site Safety Manager.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of atmospheric testing equipment.

Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction site safety management or related field.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with implementing and managing safety programs in construction projects.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
  • Certification in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
