Job Description

We are currently seeking a Marketing Manager to join the Wireless Growth team at Freedom Mobile.  The individual will primarily focus on leading:

  • Targeted/segmented acquisition offer development and cross-functional Go-To-Market execution,
  • Our Dealer Co-op advertising program,
  • Summer and on-campus event program organization, and
  • Sponsorship initiatives.

This position reports into the Director, Growth Marketing. 

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, great at building strong working relationships, able to multi-task, has a high attention to detail, likes coming up with new ways of doing things, and has marketing or sales experience in the wireless industry. This is a permanent, full-time position.

  • Targeted/Segmented Acquisition Offer Development and Implementation: Lead cross-functional offer development and support for select regions, sales channels, or customer segments on both a pro-active and competitive response basis.  Analyze performance results and provide recommendations on future activity.
  • Dealer Co-op Advertising Program: Establish eligibility criteria, launch the annual program with the Dealer Sales team, provide direction on asset development to the Brand team, and review/approve submissions.
  • Events: Work with multiple vendors (staffing, merchandising, apparel, etc.), Dealers, Corporate stores, event organizations, and post-secondary institutions to coordinate summer festival and seasonal on-campus activation events.
  • Sponsorships: Secure new and extend current sponsorships.  Coordinate the completion of contract agreements, develop activation initiatives, and oversee sponsorship execution.
  • Budget: Manage the Growth team annual budget, including securing approvals, setting up POs, processing monthly invoices, and coordinating monthly accruals with Finance.

Note: There will be a need for occasional evening or weekend work to help support and visit select event and sponsorship initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Self-driven – tackles tasks and progresses projects on their own
  • Relationship builder – able to establish strong, cooperative cross-functional working relationships with key stakeholders, keeping them engaged and informed
  • Creative – a problem solver who likes identifying opportunities to improve existing processes, reports, etc.
  • Extremely high attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills – adept at being clear and concise
  • Strong computer skills, in particular with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Salesforce would be an asset, but is not essential
  • An undergraduate university degree in business/marketing, or college equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-6 years of full-time work experience, including 2+ years of marketing and/or event marketing experience in a related industry, where interaction with Sales teams was a component of the role.  Preference will be given to candidates with new customer acquisition marketing experience.
  • Sales experience, especially in the wireless industry, would be an asset.
