LargeSaaS group (LSaaS) is a part of Oracle’s Infrastructure Global Industry Unit organization with a focus on a large revenue cloud solutions for Construction Engineering and Energy & Water industries. LargeSaaS group includes two of the Oracle largest revenue SaaS products: Oracle Textura Payment Management Platform for Construction, and Oracle Opower - Engagement Management Platform for Utilities.

We are seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead LSaaS Data Platform team consisting of ~70 software developers today and reporting to Vice President of Product Development, LSaaS group.

LSaaS Data Platform team owns the mission critical data systems that enable hundreds of clients (and millions of end users) for Textura and Opower. Team is responsible for a full cycle of data management:

  • Services to receive data that vary from manual data ingest solutions for utilities, ERP adapters for construction clients, as well as modern cloud solutions.
  • Services for data validation, normalization and transformation, streaming and pipelines.
  • A flexible and extensible data storage solutions.
  • An easy-to-use and secure APIs for retrieving and sharing customer data and analytics for multiple parties. Parties include utilities and construction companies, oracle internal use, and 3 rd party entities).
  • A rate modeling solution for utility industry.
  • Data governance (security, compliance, regulatory requirements, privacy laws, and more).


Data sources include utility customers core data (accounts, contacts, billing, etc.), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) electricity usage reads, 3 rd party acquired data (such as weather data, household data, etc.), payment data for construction clients. With generated insights and analytics totaling to over 2 PB.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of talented software engineers (manage seniors managers/directors)
  • Identify, recruit and retain strong engineering talent
  • Establish and develop best practices, adopt technologies, tools, and methods
  • Drive software architecture decisions and contribute to the direction and strategy of the team
  • Collaborate with other engineering and consulting teams across multiple geographies


Qualification & Skills:

  • Highly technical: comfortable at engaging and influencing Data Principal Engineers and Architects
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 12+ years in Software industry. Hands-on development experience in Python or Java is preferred.
  • 8+ years in Management at Software Engineering and specifically managing software development teams in the data/analytics domain
  • 5+ years in Architecture: designing and architecting applications as a Principal Engineer or above
  • Ability to translate customer requirements and features into design specifications
  • Proven track record of successful design and delivery of cloud services at scale in a public cloud
  • Experience at an organization with strong operational culture
  • Experience with agile/test driven methodologies
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems is highly preferred
  • Experience designing and delivering tools to support modern data science platforms (AI/ML tools, integrations to 3rd party analytics platforms, data modeling & API design) is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner

US: Hiring Range: from $142,900 - $338,600 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
