The Position 

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for developing relationships with customers and growing accounts in the assigned territory through the promotion and selling of the company's products and services to businesses and distributors. The individual will manage significant accounts and customers.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Cultivate new and expanded sales prospects and customer opportunities to achieve sales growth.
  • Routinely travel to visit new and existing customers and attend relevant trade shows.
  • Identify and properly qualify new business opportunities using available resources.
  • Provide customer support by responding to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Partner with current customers to ascertain current needs/requirements and generate additional sales.
  • Conduct market research and identify target individuals and organizations.
  • Provide technical support to clients, emphasizing long-term relationships.
  • Promote and position key strategic product and service offerings.
  • Ensure the Sales Forecasting Tool is current and updated with accurate customer and sales information.
  • Routinely pull and reference system reports to identify additional sales opportunities and enhance the pipeline.
  • Develop sales activity plans to optimize sales activities and achieve target sales performance.
  • Execute timely preparation of all expense reports, call reports, and assigned projects.
  • Remain up-to-date on new product development, technology, and services offerings.
  • Keep management and sales team members informed of all relevant activity.
  • Reports to the APAC Sales Manager.

The Ideal Candidate Experience

The Technical Sales Representative position is a position that requires a minimum of three years of work experience. The ideal candidate would need to be a self-starter who can work independently, but also needs to be team-focused at the same time. A candidate with strong presentation, organizational, and time management skills is necessary to help grow the company.

Education & Qualifications Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Micobiology/Biochemistry or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful technical sales experience.
  • Self-starter; motivated, and must be able to work independently as well as be team focused and results-driven.
  • Strong presentation, organizational and time management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, especially with customers and senior management.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Access and internal sales tools.
  • Strong technical skills; able to present technical concepts; provide customers with hands-on technique using our products.
  • The TSR is required to possess technical knowledge of all marketed products and services as well as strong sales skills
