About The Opportunity
This position performs all procedures necessary to ensure Ceridian web application and services are protected from web attacks, intrusion, and disruption. The position will deploy, configure, and tune Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Web Proxy solutions across Ceridian, and respond to and resolves operational issues using established cybersecurity tools and procedures.
This position will provide day-to-day operations support in implementation and administration, incident triaging and escalation. This position reports to the Sr Manager Cybersecurity Operations. Provides support to a geographically distributed stakeholder.
Cybersecurity Operations

- Design, deploy, monitor WAF and Web Proxy solutions
- Monitor and analyze network and web traffic logs to identify remediation actions and escalation paths for incidents.
- Develop operating procedures and incident response plans for WAF and Web Proxy incidents to streamline incident remediation process
- Create custom rules and policies to address application requirements and use cases
- Provide ongoing support capabilities and tuning of policies and rulesets as part of daily monitoring to reduce false positives
- Engage with application development teams and stakeholders to provide subject level expertise related to web application attacks and defense best practices
- Provide operational support for content development and tuning for the SIEM
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Conduct proactive threat research

Skills And Experience We Value
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology plus 5+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Direct 5+ years of experience in engineering, configuring, and managing WAF, Web proxy and SIEM solutions
- GSEC, CCNA, ITIL, CompTIA Security+ certification is a must have for this position
- Excellent understanding of web attacks and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
- Experience reviewing and analyzing network packet captures and web logs
- Experience performing security and vulnerability reviews of network environments
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the TCP/IP protocol, web protocols, networking architecture and concepts
- Experience with SIEM and endpoint security solutions
- Working knowledge of web and application servers
- Strong research background, utilizing an analytical approach to solving problems
- Candidate must be able to react quickly, decisively, and deliberately while dealing with security incidents
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to self-start, prioritize, multi-task and work in a team setting
- Ability to understand and work with complex, large enterprise business environments
- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage competing priorities and projects
