This is a remote position.
Role: Sr DBA
Responsibilities:
- Assess DB migration from on-premises to Cloud
- Assess DB modernization and consolidation requirements from customers
- Assess DB structures, data size, RTO and RPO values with feasibility under current
environment
- Design database blueprint, cutover strategy for migration, modernization and
consolidation
- DB configuration, Set up and tuning for performance optimization
- DB cluster set up, multi-node set up and replication set up for Resiliency
- Support production issues related to database
- Design database sizing based on inputs from customer requirements
- Implement data life-cycle management Backup patterns leveraging economical long-
term cold storage solutions
- Architect and Implement data cache strategies to support real-time heavy read
applications
Expertise:
- Overall 7+ years of experience in database design and management across
domains like BFSI, Telecom, Retail etc
- 5+ years of Experience as DBA on SQL databases like Postgres, Postgres
EDB MySQL and Oracle kind of databases
- 3+ years of Experience as DBA on SQL server database
- 2+ years of Experience as DBA on MongoDB or similar database
- 2+ years of experience on managing databases with multi-node cluster and >100 TB
of data
- Experience in latest database like cockroach DB, Yugabyte etc
- Experience in Lucene index DB for search applications (e.g. Elastic search)
- Experience in VectorDB implementations for semantic search use-cases
- Experience in memory cache solutions (e.g. Redis)
- At least 2 migration projects successfully delivered from on-premises to cloud
database for size of >20 TB of data
- Experience on working on AWS RDS, Database hosted on AWS, SQL Server PAAS
on Azure, Database hosted on Azure
- Experience on database security, database encryption and data security and best
practices
- Sufficient Knowledge of SQL and No-SQL databases
