Sr. SQL Server DBA with migration project exp (moving from DB2 to on prem SQL environments)
Location: West Chester PA area/Remote (Candidates can only live and work remotely out of these approved states: NY, PA, CA, WA, VA, OH, SC, and FL)

Duration: 6 month contract initially with likely extensions

IV process: Video IVs/Virtual Start

SQL Server DBA will assist on a large project to move from DB2 to SQL Server (on-prem.) Will be supporting production, business-critical, high-volume databases and performing keep the lights on activities. Tasks will consist of transferring data, performance tuning, setting up table partitioning, purging/archiving data, and debugging issues.

Required Experience

8+ years of strong SQL Server DBA skills: T-SQL, Performance tuning, general SQL administration, replication, creation/configuration of new databases, and automation
Strong experience supporting business critical production databases
Work with cross functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Work to identify applications and teams tied to individual databases that require patching or upgrades. Coordinate any testing or required/planned outages with those teams
Experience with Powershell
Experience with CommVault a plus
Experience with performing data copies and refreshes
Experience performing failovers
Ability to troubleshoot under pressure
Ability to tune complex SQL statements
Backup/Recovery
Alerts, monitoring and automation
Experience following strict change management process
Strong planning, time-management, and communication skills are required

Stipulations for Remote workers:

Candidate MUST have a reliable and high speed internet connection, which supports using data and being on a video conference at the same time.
Candidate will work East Coast hours for the most part, with the flexibility of some early morning or after hours coverage
