The Account Director will be responsible for leading and managing accounts/large projects and team members managing smaller accounts:

  • To drive organic business development for each allocated account/project to meet/exceed agreed revenue (fee) targets
  • To assist in the development of strategic medical communication plans and their tactical implementation
  • To develop mutually beneficial business relationships with key client stakeholders
  • To ensure accurate and timely financial planning and reporting
  • To deliver effective team management


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of Account/Projects
  • Drive organic growth
  • Lead allocated accounts/projects to ensure all accounts/projects deliver excellence in client service
  • Drive continuous improvement on an account level in terms of client services and project management delivery
  • Responsible for setting the standards of quality for the outputs of the allocated accounts team
  • Work with scientific services lead to ensure that all projects are profitable and project milestones are met
  • Lead the financial forecasting approach, ensuring that forecasts are accurate and provided in a timely fashion to finance department and agency leadership
  • Develop plan to develop the team to meet the current and future needs of the business
  • Develop and (upon approval) recruitment plan based upon the current and future needs of the business
  • Perform other tasks as delegated by the Managing Director/Head of Client Services
    • Represents the company at client meetings (eg, advisory boards, speaker training meetings, business development initiatives) in a professional manner
    • Ensures that information is communicated effectively

        • Gap analysis

        • Medical affairs tactics
    • Minimum of 5 years’ of client services team leadership
    • Minimum of 5 years’ of man management experience
    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in science in business related subject
    • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in client services for a medical communications agency
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to plan/organize and multitask
    • Flexibility to travel and attend client and program meetings
