About the Role
The Sourcing/Buyer Intern will support the Procurement/Supply Chain team in identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This role is ideal for fresh graduates, particularly those with a degree in Industrial Engineering, who are looking to gain hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Research: Assist in identifying potential suppliers, analyzing their capabilities, and compiling data to support sourcing decisions.
  • Request for Quotations (RFQs): Help in preparing and sending out RFQs to suppliers, gathering and comparing quotes, and summarizing the findings for decision-making.
  • Cost Analysis: Perform cost analysis and support negotiations with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.
  • Order Management: Assist in the preparation and management of purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Supplier Relationships: Help maintain relationships with existing suppliers and support the onboarding process for new suppliers.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the procurement team to monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
  • Data Management: Update and maintain supplier databases, procurement records, and reports to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including production, quality assurance, and finance, to ensure smooth procurement operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Eager to learn and apply new concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
