Your Impact

The Senior Field Service Specialist is the face of our industry leading expertise and knowledge. They will guide and support customers in successfully installing, monitoring, testing, and analyzing partial discharge, flux, shaft and end winding monitoring systems. They will be using various Iris Power monitoring technologies along with test and measurement products to deliver accurate results.

Iris Power (a division of Qualitrol Corp.) is the market leader in developing condition-based monitoring systems for high voltage rotating machines. Our products are mainly used in the utilities industry but also other industries that use high voltage equipment. There is a vast monitoring product portfolio at Iris Power which provide learning opportunities and exposure to different industries, customers, and locations

You will be a critical addition to our international Field Service team, delivering various services to our critical infrastructure customers including on-site advice, software and hardware commissioning, and test data analysis.

Here’s Where You’ll Demonstrate Your Proficiencies

  • Advising customers on location and functionality of condition monitoring sensors and equipment
  • Managing installation and commissioning processes of condition monitoring equipment and educating the customer on health of asset
  • Leading seminars and trainings on partial discharge, condition monitoring technologies, understanding partial discharge reports etc
  • Providing technical expertise to customers on customized partial discharge solutions
  • Writing and reviewing data analysis reports around our various technologies speaking to the health of the customer asset, level of partial discharge, our recommendations etc

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • College or university graduate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Above-average proficiency in using Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, preferably with basic knowledge of computer networking
  • Practical work experience in power industries preferably with exposure to high voltage equipment and rotating machines. Utilities industry experience a plus.
  • Experience working with various meters, digital oscilloscopes
  • Strong ability to deliver training to our customers in a class setting as well as in a practical hands-on environment.
  • Have an international driver’s license and an availability to travel. Position is remote and will require up to 70% travel.
  • Experience with High Voltage (>3kV) test equipment and knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus is preferred.

  • Power station and industrial plant environment with frequent exposure to electrical, chemical, mechanical and radiation hazards
