As part of the cross-national Zurich Cloud Transformation Team based in the Barcelona Engineering and Technology Delivery Centre. We are supporting the Business Unit with technological support, mostly focusing on Kubernetes platforms to cover the whole application lifecycle.
Your role
As a Kubernetes engineeryour main responsibilities will involve:
Provide support for Cloud incidents and problems. Perform monitoring, profiling and troubleshooting of existing solutions.
Provide support for Openshift Containers Platform and Kubernetes incidents and problems. Perform monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting of existing solutions.
Design, implement, and maintain scalable OpenShift/Kubernetes infrastructure.
Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and deploy them on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
Optimize OpenShift/Kubernetes cluster performance, resource utilization, and cost-effectiveness.
Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
Ensure the security of OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters by following best practices and implementing security controls.
Automate OpenShift/Kubernetes deployment and management processes using infrastructure as code tools.
Stay up to date with OpenShift/Kubernetes ecosystem developments and propose improvements.
Work with key stakeholders to understand their requirements, existing systems and applications.
Create technical documentation and implement a solution's definition.
Collaborate with your teammates to continuously evolve the platform and ensure service excellence.
Constantly learn about new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs.
To work in Agile mode to continuously develop the environment to fulfil the requirements from the different stakeholders.
Participate in Solution Strategy, innovation areas and technology roadmap globally.
Your Skills And Experience
As a Kubernetes engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
1 year of experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes, Docker (preferentially Openshift).
1 year of experience with software engineering or software systems engineering in professional or academic environments
1 year of experience with programming, scripting, or mark-up languages, including Bash, Python, JSON, or YAML in professional or academic environments
1 year of experience with UNIX or Linux operating systems and command line interfaces administration in professional or academic environments
1 year of experience with Windows operating systems, MS-DOS and/or Power Shell scripting in professional or academic environments
1 year of experience with software version control systems, including Git preferred in professional or academic environments.
Team player with a positive attitude, strong communication (English verbal and written) & interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical issues to technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to work in a fast-changing, dynamic, and agile environment, including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic.

Additional Qualifications
Experience with CentOS or RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Experience with IaC: Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, …
Experience with security protocols and practices (SSO, OAuth2, OpenID, certificates)
Ability to set up monitoring, logging and alerting for Kubernetes clusters.
Understanding of Kubernetes security best practices, like RBAC, network, and pod security policies.
Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio).
Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
Experience with GitHub and/or Azure DevOps
Experience with Agile development techniques.
Possession of excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills.
