Chamberlain College of Nursing is pleased to announce part time teaching opportunities for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing - BSN program at our Las Vegas, NV campus. #on-site

Although there are no immediate opportunities available, we are presently accepting applications for the following subject matters to meet potential future need:

Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab (BIOS-251 thru BIOS-256)

This is a four-course sequence in which human anatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach. Coursework emphasizes interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization.

Topics include:

  1. Basic anatomical and directional terminology, muscle tissues, fundamental concepts and principles of cell biology, history and the integumentary and skeletal systems
  2. Fundamental concepts and principles of the muscular and nervous systems, special senses and the endocrine system
  3. Cardiovascular, immune and respiratory systems
  4. Digestive, urinary and reproductive systems

Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab (BIOS-242)

This course covers basic concepts of microbiology, with emphasis on medically important microorganisms and infectious diseases. Also addressed are microscopy, microbial growth and genetics, antimicrobial agents, epidemiology and immune system responses to pathogens. Lab exercises focus on aseptic techniques, isolation and culture of microorganisms, microscopy and staining techniques.

Courses meet once or twice a week, typically for 2-4 hours per day; courses run in eight week sessions. Commitment is on a course by course basis.



Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications
  • Earned a master's or doctorate degree with a minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned in the course subject
  • Have at least 15 credit hours teaching experience at the university level
  • Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution (or a US course-by-course equivalency evaluation for degrees earned and conferred outside of the US)
  • Possess genuine passion for nursing education, and lifelong learning
  • Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care
  • Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community

Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Campus:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
