Job description

About this Role:

Wander is a growing fast-paced startup, hiring a full-time FP&A Specialist. You will work remotely as a member of the Finance Team supporting board requests and providing comprehensive business-level reviews. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys thinking cross-functionally, is savvy with reporting technologies, and is both creative and analytical. You will report directly to the VP of Finance. 

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare financial reports and analyses for board meetings

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making

  • Communicate directly with Sr Leadership, investors and board members

  • Analyze business performance and provide actionable insights to leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret financial data

  • Create and deliver business-level updates to stakeholders

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA is a plus

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A or related finance roles

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling

  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred

Ideal Candidate:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, with a track record of supporting C-level executives and board members

  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders

  • Experience in a high-growth or dynamic industry, demonstrating adaptability to changing business environments

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence decision-making across various departments

  • A proactive approach to identifying areas for process improvement and implementing innovative solutions

  • Excellent project management skills, capable of juggling multiple high-priority tasks with tight deadlines

  • A strategic mindset, able to connect financial analysis to broader business objectives and market trends

  • Experience with advanced financial modeling techniques and scenario analysis

  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles and best practices in FP&A

  • Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives around financial data
