Job description

This is a remote position.

About the Client:

The client is a contracting company that focuses on renovations, extensions and alterations of domestic homes for upper scale market and building luxury homes using high end materials. The company’s goal is that every building should be built to the highest standards of safety, durability and functionality and deliver exceptional results that exceed clients’ expectations and stand the test of time.

We are looking for a diligent Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. You will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions.

 

·        Understand the project/program and its requirements.

·        Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.

·        Conduct regular risk assessments.

·        Oversee the different stages of a company project to ensure that expenses follow the forecast plan.

·        Interpreting drawings, relevant specifications and reports.

·        Preparing take-offs, itemizing, sending to and liaising with suppliers and putting together a complete and compliant quote.

 



Requirements
  • 2 years of experience as an Estimator or related role in an Australian company      
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations, understanding of AS1684, NCC 2022
  • Knowledge in Mitek, Pryda Australia     
  • Understanding of Australian Construction.   
  • Knowledge of suppliers and contractors      
  • Experience in architectural, engineering and construction field/industry.
  • Experience in cost estimating and other software related to the field (BuildXact, PlanSwift and Excel)
  • Experience in interpreting and analyzing project specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
