Regional and commercial leader for Illumina’s business in Latin America which includes the direct to customer business in Brazil and operating with 20+ countries across Latin America. The position is to own the P&L for the region and to drive growth in genomics for Illumina. Strategic planning, and tactical execution of how resources are deployed, partnerships, and working across the internal commercial and non-commercial partners to advance genomics.
The role will be underpinned by a world class field based team, internal teams, and a South American headquarters and solutions center to support the engagement with customers, government, funding agencies, and lab directors to best find ways to grow the genomics footprint. Knowledge of our existing customer base, competitive landscape, genomics tools, pricing, funding, and operations will be used in combination to help the field teams to deliver best in class products, workflows and services to our customers.
The commercial leader will have accountability and responsibility for the long term growth of our business in Latin America and will report into our Americas leadership team.
Position Summary:
This role is a commercial leader for a mid-size country or or country cluster (region). This role directs the sales of all the organization’s products or services and develops the country/region’s long-range sales strategy and forecasts sales volumes. This role is also responsible for developing and implementing plans to meet market demands, setting budgets and objectives, and administering policies. Must have the ability to direct and coordinate activities of multiple departments, select and develop personnel, and ensure the attainment of financial and operational goals.
Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs and other related duties may be assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Participates with other senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives for a functional area or integrated department.
Makes final decisions on functional matters and ensures operational effectiveness.
Develops, modifies, and executes company policies that have enterprise-wide effect.
Works on highly complex assignments where problems are not clearly defined, and fundamental principles do not fully apply.
Erroneous decisions may cause critical delay in accomplishing long-term goals and directly impact the success of a function or multiple departments.
Regularly interacts with senior management, executives and/or major customers.
Reconciles multiple stakeholder views to drive business results.
Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating matters of significance to the organization.
Directs the activities of a functional area or integrated department through lower management.
Leads team(s) to develop new methods and solve complex matters and has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing expense priorities.
