Location Commutable distance to Winchester / London. Arqiva offer a hybrid working model whereby site visits tend to be more meeting dependent

The Senior In-Life Commercial Manager will be involved in the commercial management of Arqiva’s largest utility customer contracts. The role would suit candidates who have a demonstrable ability to understand and closely manage the obligations and deliverables in a variety of complex contracts, are detail orientated, and excellent at forming strong relationships both internally and with customers.

The role

  • Building a comprehensive understanding of each contract and seeking ways to prevent margin erosion, improve revenue, and increase efficiency.
  • Understanding the contractual obligations for both the customer and Arqiva, and ensuring both parties adhere to these.
  • Ensuring all contractual deliverables are understood by the relevant Arqiva Teams and carrying out regular reviews both internally and with the customer on the progress of these until completion.
  • Monitoring performance against agreed KPI's, which will include the performance of subcontractors.
  • Working with the Account Managers to build a strong relationship with each customer and provide support on contractual queries.
  • Working collaboratively with many different areas of the Business including Delivery, Product, Legal, Finance, Procurement and Technology.
  • Ensuring contractual obligations and deliverables are clearly documented and manage the delivery of these with the relevant internal Team.
  • Carrying out monthly reviews with the Account Team and customer to ensure that performance is in line with the contractual requirements.
  • Ensuring risk mitigation measures are understood and monitored / implemented.
  • Tracking of obligations, deliverables and supporting documentation including the asset register, audits, KPIs, and Service Level reporting
  • Ensuring cost models are adhered to throughout contract lifecycle.
  • Proactively seeking and then driving incremental revenue and margin activities through revenue growth and/or cost reduction.

The person

  • Demonstratable experience in dealing with commercial and contract management across a wide spectrum of activity.
  • Proven leadership working with customers, both internally and externally.
  • Strong decision making with the ability to balance conflicting priorities.
  • Strong risk management skills, and able to identify the most appropriate mitigation actions to reduce exposure.
  • Excellent communications at all levels and the ability to simplify complexity.
  • Growth mindset, open to taking on new challenges and identifying and implementing business improvement activities.
  • Team player, willing to share experience as well as coach and mentor colleagues.
  • Must be an experienced Commercial and Contract Management professional with a proven track record of success.
  • Background in Utilities and/or Telco ideally is desirable.
  • World Commerce and Contract (formerly IACCM) accreditation is desirable.
