Senior Capital Actuary - Remote from UK

Job Description

Join our team at Wakam as a Capital Management Actuary, where you'll play a crucial role in supporting our UK subsidiary with regulatory reporting requirements and building new business. This is a pivotal role for the sub, with significant impact on our business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and understand the standard formula calculation.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the drivers of capital and peer review the output of the capital management model.
• Work on projects involving the implementation of innovative modelling and automation tools.
• Develop and maintain a robust capital management framework to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support business growth.

• Conduct risk assessments to identify, assess, and mitigate risks to the company's capital position.
• Develop stress testing scenarios to evaluate the impact of adverse events on the company's capital adequacy.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with various teams to provide insights and recommendations on capital management and risk assessment.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance the company's capital position and support growth objectives.
• Stay updated on regulatory developments and industry best practices related to capital management and risk assessment.

Profile requirements:

Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified Actuary with UK qualification (FIA, FFA, or equivalent) and several years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong understanding of the standard formula calculation, with expertise in theory and quantitative aspects.
• Experience in non-life (P&C or retail) insurance.
• Proficiency in MS Office Tools and experience with industry capital modelling tools an advantage.
• Experience working with Solvency II requirements and regulations.
