As a Technical Claims Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in reviewing and optimizing claims portfolios, identifying opportunities for reserve reduction, and ensuring fair settlements. This involves expertly analyzing claims, addressing policy conditions, monitoring progress, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to legal and industry standards.
You will report to the Chief Claims Officer Europe & UK and collaborate with the Claims, External Operations and Audit teams based in Paris.
The position can be hybrid or remote from the UK.
The Technical Claims Advisor has the following responsibilities:
- Review aged claims portfolio for closure, movement or development
- Identify opportunities for reserve reduction or onwards large loss handling
- Report on any trends and/or issues arriving from review of partners, suppliers or claimants
- Analyse a claim made by a policymaker to establish whether it satisfies the policy conditions
- Identify reasons why full payment may not be made
- Explain to partners/policyholders when their claim is not covered
- Monitor the progress of a claim
- Investigate potentially fraudulent claims
- Liaise with solicitors, as well as other legal and claims professionals, and negotiate the terms of a claim
- Ensure fair settlement of a valid claim
- Ensure the customer is treated fairly and that the customer receives excellent service in accordance with industry and company guidelines
- Handle any complaints associated with a claim
- Manage all administration aspects of the claim, ensuring that case notes, logs and diaries for each customer are completed on time and accurately
- Adhere to legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards set by the company
- 3+ years’ experience across Lines of Business including motor, credit hire and injury in a relevant claims role at an UK insurance company, TPA or law firm.·
- Strong experience in claims decision making and value based settlements
- Experience of claims partnerships, TPAs and intermediaries
- Experience of analysing large amounts of data to make recommendations on loss adjusting activities
- Ability to establish credibility and a position of influence
- Strong knowledge of the regulations and compliance standards within the insurance industry
- Experience stakeholder relationship management
- A solid understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss analysis
- Strong experience in managing day-to-day company operations, including underwriting, claims processing, and policy administration
- Strong knowledge of the regulations and compliance standards within the insurance industry
