Your missions

Role overview

We are seeking a dynamic Finance Manager to join our small but impactful team. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a vital part in various finance activities across all areas of our operations. Reporting directly to the UK CFO, you'll take on a broad and diverse role with responsibilities ranging from regulatory compliance to process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Direct responsibility for timely and accurate delivery of UK regulatory and statutory financial statements.
    • Oversight of the overall control environment and preparation of UK GAAP financial statements.
    • Produce quarterly trial balance and management accounts, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP.
    • Review external regulatory reporting requirements and respond to the PRA and FCA.
    • Coordinate contributions to quarterly Solvency II reports.
  • Tax and Compliance:

    • Manage corporation tax and VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
    • Handle tax, VAT, and IPT returns, ensuring compliance with current legislation and identifying recovery opportunities.
  • Financial Management:

    • Support the UK CFO in preparation and sign-off on statutory and regulatory financial results and statements.
    • Transform and improve processes for reduced cycle time and improved accuracy.
    • Support Treasury Management activities, including bank accounts, mandates, and transfers.
    • Design and ensure operation of internal controls around financial reporting processes.
  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Manage, coach, and develop the reporting team.
    • Document processes for cross-skilling, minimizing key person dependencies.
  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Respond to external and internal audit queries.
    • Liaise with business teams on data quality issues for timely resolution.
    • Maintain records to satisfy reporting and filing obligations of the UK.
Requirements:

Qualifications & skills: 

  • Qualified ACA or equivalent with a track record in the insurance industry.
  • Operational experience with UK GAAP and Solvency II.
  • Proven experience in a similar role with dedicating experience in preparing and reviewing Solvency II and tax returns.
  • Proficiency in Solvency II reporting software, specifically FSSS.
  • Nice to have: Experience in preparing UK GAAPs.
  • Ready to take charge and manage a small team.

  • Agile and flexible mindset.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in various ways.
  • Attention to detail and a grounded personality.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate.

  1. Screening interview with Talent recruiter
  2. Manager interview with UK Chief Finance Officer & UK HR Manager 
  3. Senior executive interview with VP Finance & Chief Accounting & Tax (central team) 
  4. Cross interview with Risk,Compliance & Operations functions
  5. HR interview with Head of Talent or VP People & Culture
