  • Coordinate with attorneys to ensure discovery responses, pleadings, and supporting materials are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Track California litigation deadlines, discovery due dates, court dates, and other case-related milestones.
  • Prepare and coordinate California Superior Court filings and electronic filings.
  • Organize medical records, supporting documents, client materials, and litigation files so attorneys can quickly access the information they need.
  • Assist with motions and other litigation documentation when required while recognizing when attorney input or approval is necessary.

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Significant hands-on experience supporting U.S. Personal Injury civil litigation matters, including practical California litigation experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of California civil discovery procedures, workflows, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and related discovery responses.
  • Fluent English and Spanish, both written and spoken, with the confidence to communicate directly with Spanish-speaking clients about detailed case information.
  • Strong legal drafting and document-review skills, including experience preparing pleadings and supporting litigation documents.
  • Experience managing multiple active matters, competing deadlines, litigation calendars, and court filing requirements with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to independently handle routine civil litigation work, proactively resolve missing information, and appropriately escalate substantive legal questions to attorneys.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with California Superior Court electronic filing systems.
  • Experience using MerusCase or comparable litigation case management software; MerusCase experience is strongly preferred.
