We are looking for a highly talented Senior Copywriter to help shape how IMG speaks to the world.

This is a senior creative role with responsibility for setting the standard of written work across the agency’s owned channels and marketing communications. You will turn strategy, insight and complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that build IMG’s reputation, support commercial growth and connect with audiences across sport and culture.

You will lead copy development across executive thought leadership, B2B email marketing, RFPs, social media, and the website. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, subject-matter experts, the Creative team and Corporate Communications to define the brief, shape the story and deliver work that is distinctive, accurate and effective.

As a senior member of the team, you will also raise the quality of the wider creative output through constructive feedback, mentoring and a strong point of view on craft, tone and messaging.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Own and evolve IMG’s written voice across owned channels, ensuring every piece of communication is clear, confident, consistent and commercially purposeful.
• Lead the development of high-quality copy from brief to final delivery, challenging the brief where needed and bringing clarity to complex or technical subject matter.
• Partner with senior stakeholders and executives to create thought leadership, including opinion pieces, articles, interviews, speeches, LinkedIn content and industry commentary.
• Shape B2B marketing content that positions IMG’s capabilities, demonstrates its expertise and supports lead generation, business development and client relationships.
• Lead copy for RFPs, credentials, sales decks, case studies, capability materials and other high-value commercial communications.
• Develop and oversee copy for IMG’s website, social channels and email marketing, adapting messages for different audiences, formats and stages of the customer journey.
• Work with Corporate Communications to develop messaging for press releases, announcements and public relations initiatives.
• Create content and narrative ideas for industry events, including panel themes, moderator notes, speaker briefs and supporting communications.
• Research sport, culture, media and marketing trends to identify relevant insights and turn them into useful, engaging stories.
• Edit, proofread and provide senior-level feedback on marketing and sales materials, maintaining a high standard of accuracy, consistency and craft.
• Act as a trusted editorial partner to designers, marketers, executives and subject-matter experts, helping teams make stronger decisions about messaging and narrative.
• Mentor junior writers and contribute to a culture of feedback, collaboration and continuous improvement across the Creative team.
• Help establish efficient ways of working for copy development, including briefs, reviews, approvals, content planning and quality control.
• Use AI tools responsibly to support research, idea generation, structure and workflow, applying human judgement to every output.

Knowledge and Experience

• Seven or more years of experience in copywriting, content, editorial or a related role, preferably within an agency, marketing or sports environment.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic and creative writing across multiple formats, platforms and audiences.
• Experience developing B2B, corporate and executive communications, with a clear understanding of how content supports brand and commercial objectives.
• Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a sharp eye for detail and a strong understanding of tone of voice.
• The ability to turn complex information, data and expert input into clear, persuasive and engaging narratives.
• Experience working directly with senior stakeholders and executives, including the confidence to advise, challenge and influence.
• Experience leading or mentoring other writers, creatives or contributors.
• Strong understanding of digital content, social platforms, SEO and content optimisation.
• Excellent organisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without compromising quality.
• A relevant degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field is preferred.

Working Conditions

• This is a permanent position
• This role will be based at Chiswick Park, with some flexibility on remote working as appropriate
• Working hours are 9:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
• May be required to attend (and travel to) locations, including other IMG buildings and meetings
• Unsocial hours may be required, as dictated by the demands of the business schedule
