About the Role

At this time, we are prioritizing candidates who live in the NYC metropolitan area, or are willing to work East Coast hours.

Ontra is seeking a Temporary Legal Talent Acquisition Partner, reporting to our Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition, to support its growing legal hiring needs.

We’re looking for someone excited to own lawyer and law firm recruiting across three legal labor sources, building a high-velocity sourcing engine that turns on capacity for the largest private markets customers in the world.

If you’re a tenacious hunter who finds great lawyers before they start looking, speaks fluently about how attorneys are titled, compensated, and engaged, and thrives building processes from scratch in a fast-changing environment, we’d love to get to know you.

What You’ll Do

  • Pipeline Building: Independently drive high-volume candidate pipeline by managing application review, utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter, driving referral campaigns, and finding other creative methods to engage and attract top legal talent (role is 70% outbound)

  • Full-Cycle Recruiting: Own the full candidate lifecycle and ensure a smooth, efficient, and positive candidate experience from start to finish, including sourcing, coordinating, screening, and hand-off for onboarding

  • Stakeholder Management: You’ll manage 7-10 reqs, most of which are looking for the same candidate profile, so understanding each role inside and out so that you can place the right candidate in the right req is key

  • Subject Matter Expertise: You will be the go-to person for all things legal recruiting, and have ideas on how to attract lawyers to our unique openings

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years of full-cycle legal recruiting experience, ideally with some of that experience being in a high-volume agency environment, required

  • Tech Savvy: Working knowledge of recruiting technologies and sourcing tools (e.g., Greenhouse or Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, and GSuite)

  • Interpersonal Communication: Ability to effectively connect, engage, and communicate with stakeholders across the business as well as legal candidates at all levels

  • Creative & Agile: Ability to think strategically, intuitively solve problems, and adapt quickly to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and priorities

  • Competitive & Goal-Motivated: Driven by deadlines and energized by meeting and exceeding targets; you have a bias toward action and are excited by the opportunity to build something
