Amperos Health is the AI-native insurance revenue recovery solution for outpatient providers. Our agentic solution recovers outstanding and denied claims across payer calls, portals, appeals, and resubmissions — escalating to your team only when needed. Customers see recovery rates up to 20% higher than traditional or manual processes, at a cost to collect up to 50% lower, within 4 weeks of onboarding. Our vision is a world where every provider has an AI-powered back office that handles insurance end-to-end — so their staff can spend less time chasing claims and more time on what healthcare is meant to be about: operating and growing their practice to serve more patients. Amperos is backed by leading investors, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Uncork Capital, Neo, and angels from OpenAI, Stripe, and more. To date, we've helped recover $700M+ in outstanding claims across 3,000 clinical locations in all 50 states. Interested in learning more? Job description

About Amperos

Amperos is healthcare's first AI-native denial management and revenue recovery platform. Our agentic AI works claims end-to-end, from portal follow-ups and payor calls to appeals and medical records, so providers can resolve more denials, recover more revenue, and focus on what matters most: serving patients.

We just closed a $16M Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with continued participation from Uncork Capital and Neo. We're still small, still early, and going after a $260B+ problem that's only getting worse. If you want to work on hard problems that matter, alongside people who care deeply about the mission (and each other), we'd love to meet you.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payment Posting Specialist with 2 to 4 years of experience in medical billing and RCM to join our team. You'll work at the intersection of traditional billing workflows and cutting-edge AI, helping our customers capture every dollar they're owed while ensuring our automation systems perform at the highest standard.

You'll be responsible for posting insurance and patient payments, applying contractual adjustments, reconciling deposits, and identifying underpayments and denials from remittance data. As our product and customer base evolve, your responsibilities may shift to align with near-term priorities. This is a role with meaningful ownership and room to grow.

What you'll do

  • Post insurance and patient payments accurately from ERAs, EOBs, and lockbox files

  • Enter payments, adjustments, and denial codes into customer PM systems and Amperos platforms

  • Apply contractual adjustments and verify allowed amounts against payer contracts and fee schedules

  • Reconcile posted payments to bank deposits and clearinghouse reports

  • Identify and escalate underpayments, overpayments, and refund situations

  • Flag denials and route them to the appropriate follow-up queue with clear notes

  • Track unapplied cash, payment variances, and posting errors through resolution

  • Maintain organized documentation of all payment-related activity

What we're looking for

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in medical billing, payment posting, or cash reconciliation

  • Strong working knowledge of ERA/EOB interpretation, CARC/RARC codes, and adjustment types

  • Experience with leading PM systems, including NextGen, ModMed, Athenahealth, and more

  • Solid understanding of payer remittance workflows, patient responsibility, and secondary billing

  • Ability to spot underpayments, incorrect adjustments, and posting discrepancies

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable in documentation and follow-through

  • Ability to work US hours (9am to 6pm ET) to collaborate with our team and customers

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where processes and priorities can change

Our Values

  • Lead with Empathy - Great products and teams are built on empathy—whether for our customers, users, or team members. We take the time to walk in others' shoes, listen actively, and truly understand their challenges, needs, and perspectives.

  • Humbly Ambitious - We combine humility with ambition. No task is beneath us, and no challenge too big. Greatness comes from being willing to do whatever it takes, while having the courage to take bold risks and learn from failures.

  • Radical Agency - Own your domain. Drive initiatives with autonomy and accountability. Think deeply, communicate with the team, and maintain a bias for action.
