Azure Operations Engineer (m/f/d)

This role is remote within Romania. If you are based in Cluj-Napoca, you also have the option to work from our office in a hybrid setup. 

What you will do:

Operate Azure and hybrid environments across incidents, changes, patching, backup, recovery, capacity, performance, and security.

Monitor and troubleshoot platforms using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, turning recurring issues into automation, runbooks, or permanent fixes.

Support hybrid environments with Windows Server, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V, Azure Arc, networking, and Entra ID.

Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation using PowerShell, Bicep/Terraform, Azure DevOps/GitHub, and Azure Policy.

Work directly with customers on incidents, changes, technical issues, and root-cause analysis, while maintaining clear documentation and handovers.

Help shape the Romanian Azure operations team through runbooks, knowledge sharing, onboarding, and continuous improvement. 

When you fit in with us:

Mandatory requirements:

Hands-on experience operating Microsoft Azure and Windows Server in production environments.

Good knowledge of Azure networking and identity, including VNets, DNS, firewalls, VPN/ExpressRoute, Entra ID, and RBAC.

Experience with PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience working with IT service management, including incident, problem, and change management.

Strong English skills, structured problem-solving, and a customer-focused approach.

Willingness to start around 06:00 EET, participate in the on-call rota, and travel occasionally to Germany. 

Nice to have:

German (B2+), Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Update Manager, Azure Backup/Site Recovery, Defender for Cloud, cost management, Microsoft 365, or Intune.

Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-802.
