Job description

Liftoff Campaigns is seeking a talented social media content specialist to develop compelling content and help manage the online presence of our candidates, organizations, and causes.

Liftoff Campaigns is a mission-driven digital and communications agency. Our clients are statewide and local Democratic political campaigns, PACs, advocates, nonprofits, and changemaking companies.

Liftoff was awarded Digital Agency of the Year at the 2025 Reed Awards. Our communications team, led by veterans of some of the largest and most consequential campaigns in politics, was recognized as a finalist for Strategic Communications Team of the Year.

Our ideal candidate is a strong writer with sharp political instincts, a creative eye, and an understanding of what makes people stop scrolling. You should be comfortable translating complex issues into engaging content, capturing a client’s voice, and taking an idea from concept through publication. This role combines content creation, day-to-day account management, and opportunities to help shape clients’ digital strategies.

Liftoff is an equal opportunity employer and all applicants will be considered. We work to center our values and those of our clients in all aspects of our work, so our culture, clientele, policies, and practices are reflective and affirming of people -- inclusive of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, immigration status, citizenship status, and so much more. We strongly encourage folks from underrepresented backgrounds to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute digital content plans that advance clients’ communications goals, working closely with Liftoff’s communications, creative, and digital teams.
  • Write engaging social media copy, video scripts, and other digital content tailored to each client’s voice, audience, and platforms.
  • Manage content calendars and day-to-day publishing across client accounts, keeping content timely, accurate, and aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Create graphics and edit short-form videos, collaborating with designers and video producers on more involved projects.
  • Turn speeches, interviews, press coverage, policy announcements, and campaign moments into compelling digital content.
  • Identify opportunities to engage with breaking news, online conversations, and emerging trends in ways that fit clients’ voices and goals.
  • Help clients reach audiences through creators, podcasts, and other nontraditional digital channels.
  • Coordinate content approvals and client feedback, managing multiple deadlines and keeping projects moving.
  • Monitor account activity and flag opportunities, questions, or emerging issues for the broader team.
  • Track content performance and use results to recommend improvements to formats, messaging, and publishing strategy.
  • Support content capture at events and on the campaign trail, including occasional travel as needed.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure organic content supports earned media, fundraising, and broader campaign objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A commitment to electing Democrats and advancing good causes.
  • Typically 3–5 years of experience in digital content, social media, or political communications, with experience managing content for a campaign, advocacy organization, public figure, or agency client.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to capture distinct voices and make complex topics accessible.
  • Experience managing social media accounts and adapting content for different platforms and audiences.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong judgment, creativity, and an ability to produce engaging digital content.
  • Working proficiency in graphic design and short-form video editing tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or CapCut.
  • Strong political instincts and attention to accuracy, tone, and timing.
  • Experience using platform analytics to assess performance and improve content.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail, with the ability to balance multiple clients, approvals, and deadlines.
  • Comfort receiving feedback, communicating with clients, and collaborating with colleagues across disciplines.
  • Initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to work beyond the 9–5 when breaking news or client needs require it.

We also offer a generous benefits package:

  • Unlimited PTO and sick days
  • Federal holidays off (11–12 total days, including Indigenous Peoples Day in off-cycle years)
  • 100% Employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible work schedules and the option to work remotely anywhere within the United States and its territories with broadband internet
  • 401(k) benefits with match after six months of employment
  • $50 phone or wifi stipend
  • ClassPass Membership
  • Life Insurance, Short Term and Long Term Disability
  • Opportunities to support continuous growth and learning
