Bengali Language Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a Bengali Language Specialist to review and verify Bengali audio transcripts. You will listen to audio recordings and compare them with the provided Bengali transcripts to ensure they are accurate, complete, and consistent with the required language guidelines.

This role is ideal for someone with strong Bengali language skills, excellent listening ability, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Listen to Bengali audio clips carefully and compare them with the provided transcript.

• Identify and correct wrong, missing, or extra words based on what is actually spoken.

• Ensure the transcript accurately represents the audio, treating the recording as the source of truth.

• Check Bengali spelling, punctuation, numbers, dates, and formatting according to the style guide.

• Identify and flag unclear or difficult-to-understand audio.

• Flag personal or sensitive content when encountered.

• Identify and flag notable dialect variations, including Kolkata, Dhaka, and Sylheti-influenced Bengali.

• Add clear and concise quality-check notes wherever required.

• Maintain high accuracy and consistency across all assigned transcripts.

What We're Looking For

• Native or near-native proficiency in Bengali.

• Strong Bengali reading and writing skills.

• Excellent listening and comprehension abilities.

• Ability to understand fast, noisy, or dialectal Bengali speech.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Comfortable using a Bengali Unicode keyboard.

• Ability to follow written guidelines and quality standards.

• Graduate degree preferred; Bengali-medium schooling is an added advantage.
