Marathi Language Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for a Marathi Language Specialist to review and verify Marathi audio transcripts. You will listen to audio recordings and compare them with the provided transcripts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with the prescribed language guidelines.

The ideal candidate should have strong Marathi language proficiency, excellent listening skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Listen to Marathi audio clips carefully and compare them with the provided transcripts.

• Identify and correct incorrect, missing, or additional words based on the actual audio.

• Ensure transcripts accurately reflect the spoken content, treating the audio recording as the source of truth.

• Review Marathi spelling, vowel length, punctuation, numbers, dates, and formatting as per the provided style guide.

• Identify and flag unclear or difficult-to-understand audio.

• Flag unsafe or personal content wherever encountered.

• Identify and flag regional dialect variations, including Pune, Konkan, Varhadi, and Marathwada Marathi.

• Provide clear and concise quality-check notes wherever required.

• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all assigned transcripts.

What We're Looking For

• Native or near-native proficiency in Marathi.

• Strong Marathi reading and writing skills.

• Excellent listening and comprehension abilities.

• Ability to understand fast, noisy, or regionally accented Marathi speech.

• Ability to distinguish between similar-sounding words and subtle pronunciation differences.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Comfortable using a Marathi Unicode keyboard (InScript or phonetic).

• Ability to follow written guidelines and quality standards.

• Graduate degree preferred; Marathi-medium schooling is an added advantage.
