Mortgage Broker Consultant (Paid Advisory Panel)

*This is a remote, independent contractor engagement open to licensed mortgage loan originators based in the United States. About 3 hours per month for 3 months, starting in November.

In this role, you will join a small, paid advisory panel of 3–5 licensed mortgage brokers and share how you actually guide borrowers from the first call through pre-approval. You know exactly where borrowers get stuck, and we'd rather hear it from you than guess. We want the unpolished version: what people ask, what they get wrong, and where the process gets painful.

Impact on the business: Bankrate helps people compare mortgage rates and understand their home loan options. Your perspective will directly shape how our product team builds better ways to guide borrowers through the home loan process.

What You'll Do:

- Walk our product team through how you guide a borrower from first conversation to application and pre-approval.

- Share what borrowers misunderstand most and how you explain it.

- React to early product ideas and tell us what would help and what would flop.

- Explain how you stay on the right side of rules like the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID).

- Meet in 30–45 minute video conversations with members of our product team, scheduled around your calendar.

What We're Looking For:

- An active NMLS-licensed mortgage loan originator at an independent brokerage, or a dual-licensed real estate agent who originates loans.

- You submit applications to at least 2 lenders, not just one.

- You personally closed at least 15 loans in the last 12 months and work directly with borrowers.

- You explain things plainly and say what's broken.

- Available for about 3 hours a month for 3 months, with your employer's OK for outside consulting if you work for a firm.

- This panel is for people who talk with borrowers, so processors, underwriters, and closers aren't the right fit.

What This Isn't:

- You won't be asked to adopt or pilot a product, refer business to Bankrate, or change how you work.

- Please don't share borrower names or personal details. We want your experience, not anyone's file.

Compensation:

$200 per hour, paid as an independent contractor: up to $600 per month and up to $1,800 over 3 months. Selected panelists will sign a consulting and confidentiality agreement.

How to Apply:

Answer 5 short questions and add your LinkedIn profile. We review every application, and if you're a match, we'll reach out to set up a short conversation.
