Job description

Who Are Massive Rocket?

Massive Rocket is a rapidly scaling Braze and Snowflake agency on a mission to transform how digital marketing, product, and engineering teams connect. In just five years, we’ve grown at speed and are now gearing up for our next big milestone: hitting $100M in revenue. We build human experiences at scale, powered by cutting‑edge web, mobile, cloud, data, and AI technologies. If you’re excited by innovation, love solving complex challenges, and want to help shape the future of digital experiences, you’ll feel right at home here.

Every role at Massive Rocket is entrepreneurial. The people who thrive here don’t just focus on their own remit — they understand the goals of the teams around them and actively contribute to the success of their colleagues, customers, and partners. We’re building a culture of ownership, collaboration, and growth, and we’re looking for people who want to make a real impact.

Who Are We Looking to Add to Our Team?

As a Platform Engineer at Massive Rocket, you’ll keep the cloud infrastructure, applications, and business systems we run on reliable, secure, and cost-efficient. This is a hands-on role that combines platform engineering, cloud administration, automation, and internal IT support.

You’ll work closely with our IT team, balancing engineering projects with day-to-day operations — from managing AWS infrastructure and deploying applications to administering SaaS platforms and resolving support requests. You’ll also help develop and deploy the internal platforms our teams rely on.

This is a role where success is measured by fewer manual tasks, more reliable systems, and a stronger security posture. If you love automating away repetitive work and enjoy being the person colleagues trust to keep things running, you’ll fit right in.

What Will You Do?

  • Maintain and improve our AWS infrastructure, Linux environments, and internal applications
  • Support infrastructure provisioning, containerised workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and application deployments using modern DevOps practices
  • Keep on top of infrastructure maintenance and security patching
  • Handle internal IT support requests, including troubleshooting, account provisioning, access management, and connectivity issues
  • Investigate infrastructure and application incidents, contribute to root cause analysis, and put fixes in place so issues don’t come back
  • Administer business applications such as Google Workspace, Atlassian Cloud, Slack, and Microsoft 365, managing configurations, permissions, integrations, and the full user lifecycle
  • Build scripts, integrations, and automated workflows that remove repetitive work across IT support, cloud infrastructure, and business systems
  • Implement and maintain security controls, and support vulnerability remediation, access reviews, security monitoring, and compliance activities aligned with ISO 27001
  • Keep technical documentation, runbooks, and infrastructure records accurate and up to date, following our change management procedures
  • Spot and deliver cloud and SaaS cost-saving opportunities

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 3–5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Systems Administration, or a similar role
  • Strong hands-on AWS experience, including IAM, EC2, VPC, S3, and other core services
  • Experience with Linux administration, troubleshooting, and security patching
  • Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern application deployment practices
  • Scripting and automation experience in Python, Bash, or similar languages
  • Experience administering SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Atlassian Cloud, or Slack
  • A solid understanding of identity and access management, security best practices, and least-privilege principles
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2
  • Confidence troubleshooting infrastructure, applications, and end-user technical issues, and happy to handle IT support alongside engineering work
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a small technical team

Bonus points if you have:

  • Infrastructure as Code experience, such as Terraform
  • Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS EKS
  • Experience developing or maintaining internal applications and services
  • GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms
  • PostgreSQL or other relational databases
  • Automation and integration platforms such as n8n
  • Monitoring, logging, and observability tools
  • Vulnerability management and technical security controls
  • An understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost optimisation
