Senior HRIS Manager

Aven Hospitality is implementing Workday globally and continuing to expand the platform across HR Operations, Recruiting, People Experience, Total Rewards, and Payroll. We are seeking a hands-on Senior HRIS Manager to lead day-to-day configuration, governance, optimization, and overall performance of the Workday environment. This is a system owner role responsible for building, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving the platform. Reporting to the Senior Director of HRIS, this individual will serve as the primary internal Workday expert and a key partner in scaling HR technology across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct leadership and oversight to two global HRIS direct reports, an HRIS Analyst and a Senior HRIS Analyst, ensuring effective system operations, service delivery, and continuous improvement across global HR functions.
• Lead configuration solutions and enterprise architecture across HCM, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Security, Reporting, integrations, and data governance; provide executive-level guidance on scalable design decisions.
• Advanced knowledge of calculated fields, EIBs, BIRT, Core Connectors, integrations, and security architecture.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale implementations, enhancements, or post-merger integrations.
• Strong configuration experience across HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Security, and Reporting.
• Own complex transformation programs including Open Enrollment, merit and bonus cycles, new module deployments, acquisitions, and global enhancements while directing internal teams, senior developers, and external partners to successful delivery.
• Train managers across the organization on Workday features, new functionality, system enhancements, and rollout readiness.
• Lead new module build outs such as advanced compensation or job catalog enhancements
• Run annual Open Enrollment, merit, and bonus cycles including configuration, testing, audits, reporting, and production readiness.
• Own day-to-day Workday administration including troubleshooting issues, resolving defects, maintaining configurations, and improving system performance.
• Gather business requirements and translate operational needs into scalable system solutions across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT.
• Manage 10+ concurrent HR technology projects, enhancements, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Establish and enforce governance, change management, release management, and documentation standards.
• Design and deliver dashboards, reports, calculated fields, and analytics that support business decisions and compliance needs.
• Maintain data integrity, security access, privacy controls, and audit readiness across the platform.
• Manage external consultants, AMS providers, and implementation partners to ensure quality delivery and accountability.
• Partner with leaders across HR, Legal, IT, Finance, and Security to support growth, organizational changes, and enterprise initiatives
   

Qualifications 

• 7+ years of hands-on Workday experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience leading Open Enrollment, merit, and bonus cycles.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in integrated HR system environments.
• Experience managing consultants, AMS providers, or implementation partners.
• Mentor analysts elevating team capability across configuration, reporting and issue resolution.
• Experience building reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
• Strong project management and prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
