Development Manager

Our Client is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to creating exciting futures in STEM by inspiring K–8 students through hands-on learning, career exploration, and meaningful educational experiences. By partnering with companies and engaging their employees, the organization helps strengthen communities, build awareness of STEM careers, and encourage strategic investment in the workforce of tomorrow.

They are seeking a full-time Development Manager to expand its corporate network and drive revenue growth throughout the Greater Houston and Gulf Coast regions. This relationship-focused role is ideal for a motivated fundraiser who knows how to open doors, cultivate meaningful connections, identify new opportunities, and confidently make the ask. Working closely with the Chief Development Officer, this individual will build a strong corporate prospect pipeline and develop partnerships across industries including aerospace, maritime, medical, oil & gas, and technology.

 What You’ll Do

  • Build and manage a strong portfolio of Houston-area corporate prospects and partners, cultivating new relationships through research, networking, referrals, industry events, and community engagement.
  • Own the full fundraising cycle - from prospecting and relationship development through proposals, solicitation, negotiation, and stewardship.
  • Develop customized corporate partnership opportunities aligned with business priorities, including workforce development, employee engagement, community impact, and corporate responsibility.
  • Secure new corporate investments, sponsorships, renewals, upgrades, and multi-year partnerships while maintaining a qualified prospect pipeline with clear next steps, projected values, and anticipated timing.
  • Develop trusted relationships with corporate executives, workforce and HR leaders, community investment professionals, and other key decision-makers.
  • Represent the organization at development and networking opportunities throughout the region while maintaining accurate prospect and donor information and providing regular pipeline and revenue updates.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer and team on larger and more complex partnership opportunities.

To thrive/succeed as the Development Manager, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 3–5+ years of experience in nonprofit development, corporate partnerships, corporate citizenship, or a related field with measurable revenue goals.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing a multi-million-dollar portfolio, with the ability to achieve an annual corporate fundraising goal of $300,000 or greater.
  • Comfortable opening doors and initiating conversations with new contacts, building trust, and developing long-term professional relationships.
  • Skilled at listening to a company’s challenges, identifying partnership opportunities, confidently making the financial ask, and creating new revenue opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a strong, qualified corporate prospect pipeline with measurable revenue goals.
  • Exceptional communication skills with corporate leaders, community partners, and key decision-makers; highly organized, self-directed, persistent, and accountable for results.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team, with a passion for expanding access to meaningful STEM opportunities for students.

 Best-in-Class Benefits and Culture:

Our client values their employees’ time and effort. Their competitive compensation of $65,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience, and an extensive benefits package, enhances their commitment to your success. Our client’s benefits package includes:
