Job description

Job Description Summary

Lead global strategic sourcing and category management for a portfolio of GE Vernova's enterprise software and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) spend. You will own end-to-end sourcing, commercial negotiations, renewals, licensing and consumption optimization, and supplier relationship management across business-application categories that support corporate and operating functions (for example Legal, Finance, HR, Risk & Compliance, and Treasury). Partner with Technology, Finance, Legal, Security, and business stakeholders to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) while delivering excellent service levels. You will work with DT Sourcing leadership to shape strategy and policy and to execute sourcing initiatives, partnering closely with stakeholders across Technology, Finance, Legal, Security and Compliance, Business Procurement, and Supply Chain.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead sourcing and category strategies for your assigned software and SaaS portfolio, translating category plans into executable sourcing events and measurable outcomes.
  • Plan and run end-to-end sourcing events (RFI, RFQ, RFP), including commercial evaluation models, negotiation strategy, supplier selection, and award recommendations.
  • Lead commercial and contract negotiations for software and SaaS agreements, partnering with Legal on master agreements, order forms, SLAs, and DPAs.
  • Structure and negotiate software commercial constructs, including subscriptions, enterprise agreements, true-ups, consumption commitments, renewals, pricing, audit rights, and license optimization.
  • Champion and secure TCO reductions across your portfolio, and provide inputs to budgeting by identifying opportunities and estimated value creation.
  • Drive demand management and compliance, including license counts, application rationalization, SaaS consumption optimization, and preferred-vendor penetration.
  • Manage the renewals calendar and pipeline proactively to avoid auto-renewals and capture negotiation leverage ahead of key dates.
  • Navigate internal vendor management processes and intake requirements (e.g., S360) for assigned spend categories, ensuring sourcing sign-off and validation gates are met.
  • Monitor market dynamics, licensing models, price inflation, and vendor consolidation to surface risks and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Technology and business stakeholders, leading multi-functional teams on strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance, service levels, and renewal risk, driving value through supplier relationship management and managing escalations.
  • Build spend analyses and executive-ready business cases, measuring and tracking performance within each spend category to report to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, or related functions).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement, IT, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, or equivalent consulting roles, with substantive exposure to software and/or SaaS categories.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, end-to-end sourcing projects from intake through contract signature, including multi-supplier evaluations.
  • Proven track record of driving TCO reduction, managing software commercial negotiations, and leading organizational or process change.

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or Engineering.
  • Deep working knowledge of software and SaaS commercial dynamics, including subscriptions, true-ups, consumption commitments, and license optimization.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed, global environment with strong analytical and financial skills (spend analytics, TCO modeling, market research).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to distill complex commercial trade-offs for executive leadership and maintain relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
