Job description

Welcome to the good side of tech 👋

You might have heard about us, but with a different name: DoktorTakvimi. It all started 12 years ago when we asked ourselves: is anyone in healthcare thinking about patients? We jumped in and we empowered patients by giving them access to leave and read reviews about their visit. We then provided doctors with the technology to manage bookings easily and save time, so they could devote themselves to what they always wanted: treating patients. And today is the day in which we ask you: wanna join us in the next step of making the healthcare experience more human?

Docplanner at scale

We are leaders in 13 countries so far, and more than 90 million patients trust us every month. 300k+ specialists believe in us and our product, and so do leading venture capital funds such as Point Nine Capital, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and One Peak Partners. And yet, employing over 2.500 people all over the globe, we managed to keep the startup-mindset we started with over 10 years ago.

At Docplanner we are a diverse group of over 300 people working in Engineering, Data, and Product teams. We are responsible for building the product for all locations. Many of us have been here for over 5 years, yet we still welcome each new person with great joy and excitement.

We could tell you about us, but we will let our reviews on Glassdoor speak for themselves. In case you’d like to see how it feels to be 100% yourself at work, here’s a video of us.

And why should you join us?

Because it feels good to tell your family and your friends how you made the world a little bit better. You go to bed knowing that what you do matters, and that your talents align with your beliefs.

We want to make the healthcare experience more human, and that starts with you being you. We believe that taking the diversity of human experience into account makes a better healthcare experience for all . We’re not just different: we embrace diversity. We will encourage you to come to work your whole self, and that includes not coming to the office at all if you prefer not to, as we're 100% remote friendly.

Team vision and mission

Doctoralia Practice is Docplanner's practice management system for individual doctors: agenda, EHR, prescriptions, invoicing and Noa, our AI clinical assistant, in one product. The Practice Adoption team makes Practice win in each market by adapting it to local regulation and local doctor needs, on top of a shared global platform run by Core Platform.

In Türkiye, that means one clear mission: give DoktorTakvimi, Doctoralia Practice and our telehealth product a platform that is fully compliant with the Ministry of Health, with every byte of patient data stored and processed in Türkiye, while keeping the reliability and cost profile of the global platform.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer based in Türkiye to own the infrastructure behind our Turkish products. You will run production Kubernetes workloads on AWS, migrate our relational databases from RDS to databases running on EKS, and operate the PHP, .NET and Node.js applications that run in them. You will be the platform's reference for data residency, encryption and audit evidence during the Ministry of Health certification, working with the Practice Adoption engineers, the local compliance team and the global Core Platform team, which supports you on the shared platform.

We want a strong platform engineer first: someone who knows Kubernetes inside out from running it in production and can figure out the rest. Ideally you have already run databases on Kubernetes. If not, you have the depth to learn it fast and the judgment to do it safely.

What you'll work on

  • Run the Kubernetes platform. You own the EKS clusters behind our Turkish products: node lifecycle and upgrades, autoscaling, resource policy, networking, deployment and observability. This is the core of the job and where we need depth from day one.

  • Your first big project: databases from RDS to Kubernetes. Our Turkish products run centralised on RDS today. You will plan and execute the migration to databases on EKS, operated through a Kubernetes operator: replication, cutover with a tested rollback, backups and point-in-time recovery to S3, and monitoring.

  • Then: bring the rest of Türkiye in. Applications, data plane and the services around them still have to move to the Turkish platform. Plenty of technologies, plenty of challenges.

  • Finally: operate the platform the certification depends on. The local team has secured ISO 27001 and ISO SPICE, moved telehealth data to the AWS Türkiye Local Zone and been accepted into KTS, the Ministry's registration system. The remaining USBS (Remote Health Information System) requirements put concrete obligations on the platform

  • Day to day: high availability and autoscaling of PHP, .NET and Node.js workloads (KEDA, Karpenter), GitOps delivery with Argo CD, cross-cluster networking and Datadog monitoring.

Key responsibilities

  • Run the Kubernetes platform for the Turkish products: node lifecycle, upgrades, autoscaling (HPA, KEDA, Karpenter), resource policy.

  • Lead the migration of relational databases from RDS to databases on EKS: operator choice, replication, cutover, rollback, backups and point-in-time recovery.

  • Own the platform's compliance evidence: data residency, encryption, secrets and privileged access, backups, and the artefacts the Ministry audit asks for.

  • Keep PHP, .NET and Node.js workloads highly available: zero-downtime deploys, DB-safe releases, graceful shutdown, right-sized scaling.

  • Own delivery through GitOps: Argo CD structure, deployment strategies (rolling, blue-green, canary), environment promotion.

  • Design and debug networking: ingress, cross-cluster and cross-VPC communication, controlled egress to Ministry systems.

  • Build observability with Datadog: SLOs, actionable alerts, APM and database monitoring, audit-grade logging.

  • Operate those databases once migrated: failover, upgrades, storage performance, capacity, incident response.

  • Automate with infrastructure as code and keep the platform cost-aware.

What we're looking for

Must have

  • 5+ years operating production infrastructure

  • Kubernetes inside out, from practice: you have run stateless and stateful workloads in production and know what breaks when a cluster changes under them.

  • Has run at least one real Kubernetes operator in production

  • AWS in depth: EKS, networking, storage, identity, multi-AZ design and cost awareness or similar cloud experience.

  • Scaling and high availability: workload and cluster autoscaling (KEDA, Karpenter or similar).

  • GitOps (Argo CD, flux) and deployment strategies.

  • Networking: services, ingress, network policies, cross-cluster communication.

  • Observability (Datadog, Prometheus and Grafana): SLOs, actionable alerts, application and database monitoring.

  • Security in practice: encryption in transit and at rest, secrets management, privileged access to clusters and databases.

  • Comfortable with relational databases as the person who runs the platform under them.

  • Daily use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code or similar) and ownership of every line and manifest they ship.

  • Professional English (B2+) and native Turkish.

Strong plus

  • Has run relational databases on Kubernetes through an operator, and has migrated databases between platforms.

  • Disaster recovery design: RPO and RTO, backup verification, restore drills.

  • Supplied infrastructure evidence in an ISO 27001, SOC 2 or health-sector audit.

  • Experience with data residency constraints and AWS Local Zones.

  • Telehealth media infrastructure: WebRTC, TURN and SFU scaling.

  • Prior contact with Turkish regulators or Ministry systems.

Why our team

The infrastructure of Docplanner in Türkiye will be in your hands. And you will open a door for the whole company: Türkiye is where Docplanner runs databases on EKS first, and what you prove here sets the path for every other market. We work as product engineers:

  • Pragmatic: the simplest design that survives an incident beats the most complete one.

  • AI-first: AI tools are the default; you own delivery end to end.

  • Small, safe changes: GitOps, canaries, rollbacks you have actually tested.

  • Radical ownership: a service without monitoring and a backup without a restore drill are not done.

  • Blameless: incidents end in a postmortem and a fix, not a culprit.

Benefits:

  • ⚕️ Private health insurance

  • 🌌 Access to the ifeel emotional well-being tool

  • 🎂 Free birthday leave to spend a day with your loved ones!

  • 🏡 Work remotely

  • 🌅 Every year 3 days of motivation leave

We promote and embrace equal opportunities in our hiring process, and also every day at work. When you apply for our roles you receive equal treatment regardless of age, disabilities, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or parental status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or any other dimension of human difference. If you require additional support in your recruitment process, we kindly encourage you to let us know. Behind those words you’re reading, there’s a person (hi!) who already helped a candidate by adapting the interviews, and now we’re lucky to have this person with us. So, even if you’ve never asked for it before, may this serve as a sign that, now, you can do so. We can only truly be equal if we adapt to each other.

“We believe all humans, in all their beautiful diversity, should have equal rights, dignity and respect. Period.” Mariusz Gralewski, CEO
